Chapter 41 - 41 Shots

"Sir," Eva said, stepping into the room with her usual silent grace. "It's already time. I will be waiting at the parking lot."

"Already?" I exhaled a long, tired breath. "Alright. Go ahead." Hoping to finish this last bit of the report in my hand, I glanced at the time, but my mind drifted the moment I looked out at the city lights. "Should I go to the bar today? Maybe tomorrow is best, since it's Saturday." Even if I go, it's unlikely he'll be there, but I still hold some hope.

"Agh, what am I even thinking? This is pathetic. I shouldn't be like this." I rubbed my temples, trying to clear the fog. I knew there were more important things to do, but the pull was magnetic. D*mn it. I just don't get why I can't seem to forget him. That's why not seeing him bothers me. I can't focus.
