I got back to work and, as Alex had said, I was asked to help with some of the reviews due for this week. My mind became occupied immediately, and it felt as if I had only blinked twice before Sir Piper returned.
"Here, Miss Burry," he said, manifesting beside my desk.
"Oh! That was fast. Thank you so much, Sir." I stood up to receive my notes, genuinely happy that I could finally check the data I needed. I flipped through a few pages right away, forgetting for a second that he was still standing there watching me.
"You're welcome," Sir Piper said. I smiled up at him, hoping he would leave now. However, the intensity of his stare was a premonition that he wouldn't just walk away. "He said that you should be more aware of yourself. This is what you went there for, and yet you forgot it."
"Urgh. He actually said that? Thank God I didn't go there myself, otherwise he would have teased me to death."
