The man swung a machete at his neck like Lingyun was some easy prey that would just sit there and take it.
Instead, Lingyun caught the intruder's wrist with one hand and shoved a burning palm against his chest. The attacker's shirt caught immediately, forcing him to release the weapon as he stumbled backward.
Lingyun took the machete and drove the handle into the man's throat before kicking him into the waiting flowers.
A gun fired near his ear, but the bullet never reached him.
