Chapter 35 - [35]

Snapping my fingers makes the blood disappear from my clothes and body, as I approach the table.

Cassy seems to squirm in her seat as the kids sitting so that they face me start murmuring amongst each other.

I stop just behind Annabeth's seat, and ruffle her hair. "Gotta work on that danger sense, Wise Girl." Instead of thinking up a cute nickname for Annabeth I call her something dumb that has Annabeth turning around in her seat with tears in her eyes.

"Wh-what did you call me?" Annabeth practically glares at me, and I start to feel uncomfortable but instead of cracking under the glare of an eleven year old.

"Well you were giving me pointers on using a sword and you sounded really wise…so." Annabeth breaks out into a full on crying fit as she flings herself at me over the back of her chair.

"Block head." Annabeth mumbles against my chest while I rub her back.

"You know, that nickname kinda fits. I am pretty hard headed at times…" I offer as I lean back and bring my hands up to wipe the tears from Annabeth's cheeks.

Annabeth gives me the cutest smile I've ever seen, and she looks like she's about to say something but Cassy clears her throat.

"If you're done interrupting my teaching lesson. Please leave." Cassy Mercer says to me as she puts a sassy hand on her hip, while crossing her free arm underneath her tits.

"I don't know, it's kinda hard to walk away from you when you're giving me that cute glare…and, I just love that sassy hand on your hip too. You give off that disappointed hot teacher vibe." I try to be smooth but Annabeth makes a gagging sound even though her ears and Cassy's have turned bright red.

"J-just go away Block Head before I punch you." Annabeth mutters through gritted teeth.

A mock gasp leaves me and I turn to Annabeth with an exaggerated expression of betrayal and heartbreak.

"Annabeth, how could you…stab me in the back like this, after I gave you such a near and dear nickname to my heart?!" Annabeth's cute glare starts to turn into a frown.

"But you said you made it up…"

"Whoops, look at the time…I gotta go." I try to excuse myself by raising and looking at my very watchless wrist.

One of the kids points out my lack of a watch so I snap my fingers and turn her head into that of a digital clock, her nose, eyes and mouth all highlighted by glowing pixels in the clock face that display the time.

The scream of the girl makes me flinch as I quickly run away from the situation I got myself into.

As I exit the gymnasium I snap my fingers returning her head to normal. "Woo, I'm glad I got out of there when I did…Annabeth's frowns are dangerously adorable." Sighing I move back to the real world Chevelle and all only to nearly trip over Zoey, who is holding her knees to her chest sitting on the ground crying.

Her shirt is ripped and hanging off of one shoulder and her jeans are pulled down a bit lower than they should be.

And the van I gave her is gone, while the chest with supplies is strewn across the parking lot.

"Zoey?" I call out soft while squatting down so that we'll be at eye level with each other.

"What do you want, you asshole?!" Zoey questions me as she tries to curl in on herself.

On closer inspection I see that she has a split lip and a black eye, any thought of what happened between us earlier completely erased from my mind. "Can't leave you alone for a minute can I, Babealicious?" I try for a smile and Zoey's eyes meet mine, and returns my smile with a fragile one of her own.

"So we can stay like this all night…if that's what you want, or you can let me fix up that split lip so it doesn't get infected. It's up to you, no pressure." I offer and Zoey's fragile smile grows a bit more real.

"Ninja Turtles…I really need some butt kickin ninjas in a half-shell…please?" Zoey looks so fragile when she asks I can't help but give her a smile, nod and.

"Of course, I feel like I need some Ninja Turtles time too…you want the OG cartoon, the movies or the new series?"

"OG, of course…Geek For Brains." At Zoey's joke I offer her my hands to take.

Zoey pushes away her moment of timidness, and takes my hands and I pull her to her feet and move us and the Chevelle back to the Pocket Dimension.

A nice secluded part of the pocket dimension and make a nice and comfy movie theater with big comfy couch/reclining couch chair things with massage ability and the whole heat and cold thing.

Brushing my thumb over Zoey's split lip making it heal instantly while the bruising and any internal injuries heal, before making all the snack and comfort food a girl could ever want. Plus my manly snacks of recess peanut butter cups and circus peanuts.

Sitting down beside Zoey she slides closer to me and snuggles against my side as Turtles begin playing on the big screen.

"Thanks…for not asking. What you're worried about…it didn't happen." Zoey murmurs and I find myself wrapping her arm around her.

"Good, I'd hate to have to put off watching the turtles to go murder some people…" Zoey lets out a soft giggle and rests her head against my chest.

"I'm sorry about earlier…it was a big moment for me and I know that a Hunter's life expectancy is pretty abysmal. I didn't want us to get attached to each other just to find one another dead again." Zoey murmurs as she eats some M&M's mixed with gummy bears.

"I mean I know I should technically apologize…but I was being a hundred percent honest…as far as I know I'm the only conditional god with his own pocket dimension in this universe."

"Is that how you can just wave your hand and make things appear?"

"Yip, but only here…out there in the real world…I'm just a bit stronger, faster and maybe a little bit more durable than normal human beings."

"And making deals with demons?" Zoey's voice grows softer.

"Look I know it's fucked up…but demons, angels they can do shit that I can't…they have access and if I want to successfully make a support network for hunters that make sure they have what they need, gear, food, health and dental care, safe homes to live in. Then I need every ally I can get. Even if it'd make those very same hunters put a silver dagger in my back."

"Those were the goals you were talking about earlier…"

"Yeah…dumb, I know."

"No, I think it's awesome…a bit grandiose…but it's awesome all the same. I-I want to help…will you let me?"

"I think…having a gorgeous girl to lure in drunk, lonely and horny hunters…is both a really good and really bad idea. But I'll take all the help I can get."

"Hey…did you say Angels?" Zoey asks me with a mix of curiosity and disbelief.

"Yeah…but don't get your hopes up. Thinking that they're some benevolent miracle workers. Like modern religion tries to paint them as. Angels are old testament, soldiers of god…which means blood, death and destruction. We are little more than monkeys slinging shit to them."

"There's no running from them as they can just teleport right in front of you, snap their fingers and eviscerate you…you don't fuck with those bastards."

"Wow…you know I'd call you crazy. But I've met a lot of crazy, a lot of crazy. And the way you talk about them sounds like you've had some personal experience…"

"Well…" I hum and make a Hunter's Handbook appear in my hands.

"I compiled all of the knowledge I have to make this…read it over when you feel like it." Zoey immediately opens the handbook and begins to read it. She doesn't say anything aloud, but even when I think she's going to take a break from reading the specific chapter she's on she turns the pages back and re-reads the chapter over and over again multiple times. Before she starts reading through another chapte. I put my concentration on watching the turtles continue to play on the big screen, rather than watch Zoey.

'I'm glad she's back... it's almost like fate or something keeps putting us in each other's orbits.' at that thought a cold chill runs down my spine as I remember reading on wiki fandom that Chuck used a resurrected Eillen as a Trojan Horse to spy on Sam and Dean in The Bunker.

'Is Zoey and unknowing spy for Chuck?'
