"Why do you want to go kill goblins, all of a sudden??" Evelyn asked, confused, as they made their way back to the mansion.
"Because I need to level up," Ethan replied honestly.
With the talent upgrade, his base stats had increased significantly, but even so, it wasn't enough to handle a second-stage warrior like Alaric.
"Is it because of that guard pig? I can kill him myself; you should just—"
"No, I'm going to kill him. Alone, in a fair duel," Ethan replied, drawing an irritated grunt from Evelyn.
"Ugh… you nobles and your useless honor, Father was exactly like that!" Evelyn pouted, crossing her arms.
If that was Ethan's plan, it did make sense to want to get as strong as possible.
But their training wasn't enough.
"Alaric is a soldier hardened by over a decade of battle, and I only have three more weeks, until one of us has to die," Ethan muttered.
"I've had the best teachers money can buy, but I need real experience and, above all, to reach the second stage."
