The parents began looking for a groom for their daughter. It did not take much effort to find a suitable match. The young man was handsome and owned a shining house and cars—he had everything. Forgetting everything from her past, Riya sat on the wedding altar. The marriage was completed.
In her husband's home, she spent her days in comfort and luxury. Everything seemed perfect.
But suddenly, one day, Riya began suffering from severe abdominal pain. Her father was informed, and he immediately took her to a well-known doctor. Medical tests were done, and a scan revealed a tumor in her uterus. The doctor said that one of Riya's uteruses would have to be surgically removed.
Hearing this, her family was devastated. The operation was performed successfully. Riya's father decided to keep the matter secret so that there would be no trouble in her married life.
However, her in-laws somehow learned from the doctor that Riya might face difficulties in becoming a mother in the future. The news spread quickly in her in-laws' house, growing more exaggerated each time—until it became, "Riya will never be able to conceive."
After hearing this, her in-laws declared that they could not bring such a daughter-in-law back into their home. This news brought darkness into Riya's life. The house that once held happiness now felt as if it were on fire.
Riya's father went to her in-laws many times to discuss the matter and to explain that she had no such permanent problem. But every time, he returned home insulted and unsuccessful.
Eventually, Riya was divorced.
Her life was no longer the same. She became a divorced woman, sitting silently in a corner, withdrawn and heartbroken. She stopped going outside. Her life had suddenly been shattered by a storm.
She had done nothing wrong, yet she was treated as if she had committed a grave sin.
Within just six months, her married life came to an end.
