Daniella shifted slightly, turning onto her back again, though she avoided looking directly at Santiago this time. The flush on her face had cooled, but it had not completely disappeared.
"How are you feeling?" the doctor asked, stepping closer.
"Better," she answered, honest.
He nodded once and began his checks without delay while the nurse moved quietly beside him, adjusting small things and recording observations.
"Any discomfort?" he asked.
"Just… a little heavy," she admitted.
The doctor's gaze lifted briefly before returning to his work. "That's expected," he said. "You need proper rest. No strain."
The words were calm but deliberate, and they lingered. Daniella simply nodded.
The examination did not take long. Vitals were checked, simple questions asked, and everything remained steady. When the doctor finally stepped back, his tone shifted slightly. "You're stable," he said. "You can be discharged today, but not immediately. I want you to stay a few more hours."
