"We will," Santiago answered.
Once Elias and the nurse left, the wardroom gradually settled back into its quiet rhythm. Daniella shifted carefully against the pillows, wincing slightly when the movement pulled at the lingering soreness in her abdomen.
Santiago immediately reached for the control beside the bed and adjusted it, raising the backrest until she was sitting more comfortably.
"Better?"
"Yes. Thank you."
He then poured a small amount of water into a cup and held it for her while she took several careful sips. When she finished, he placed the cup back on the table and remained beside the bed for a moment, watching her with the same quiet attentiveness he had maintained throughout the night.
Daniella looked at him for several seconds before speaking softly. "You stayed the whole night."
"I did."
"You didn't have to."
Santiago's expression remained calm, but there was absolute certainty in his answer. "Yes, I did."
