I stared at the scratched words on the door.
"Don't open this."
Her hands trembled.
Behind the door... someone had called her name.
"...Somya...help me".
It was the the voice of the new student who disappeared three days ago.
But that was impossible.
Everyone in school believed she had transferred to another school.
The teachers said there was no problem at all.
Yet the voice behind the door sounded weak...like someone trapped.
Somya slowly moved closer .
Her heart was beating so loudly she felt the sound echoed in the silent storage room.
" Who...who are you?" She whispered.
For a few seconds there was nothing.
Then the voice replied again.
".... You know who I am."
A cold chill ran down her spine.
Somya grabbed the rusty handle .
" W - what?"
Then the voice became quiter.
".... It's not safe."
Somya's mind spun with confusion.
" You just asked for help!"
" Yes, " the voice replied weakly.
"...but if you open this door...it will come out too."
The light in the room flickered.
Somya slowly turned around.
The storage room suddenly felt colder.
Then she saw it .
The tall shadow from earlier...
Then the whisper returned.
Right beside her ear.
".... Open it."
Somya closed her eyes tightly.
Behind the door , the trapped voice whispered again -
" Somya.... whatever you do..."
"Don't listen to the shadow."
And then-
The door handle suddenly moved by itself.
