With a scoff, Angus sent a quick text to Sam. A few moments later, there was a knock at the door, and Sam arrived, arms full of clothes. Angus shot Liesa a look. "Go back inside."
"Yes, Mr. Romano," Liesa quickly shut the door behind her, muttering under her breath as she changed.
Angus got up, leaning on his cane to open the door. After receiving the clothes, he said casually, "Do me a favor."
Sam froze for a moment, then quickly nodded and left after hearing what he should do.
Once the door was closed, Angus glanced at the pile of clothes and picked out a set that looked similar to the one she had worn earlier. He knocked on the bathroom door and tossed it inside.
Liesa hurriedly grabbed it and changed. But as she glanced at the clothes, her face fell.
It was yet another strange outfit—something that looked more like a kindergarten uniform than anything she'd ever wear. Her frustration bubbled up.
Liesa quickly changed and walked out, only to spot a few more outfits draped over the couch. Every single one of them looked more mature than the one she was currently wearing.
She couldn't help but twitch her lips—so it wasn't entirely Sam's fault.
"Not happy with it?" Angus's voice cut through her thoughts, cold and detached.
Liesa immediately forced a smile. "Not at all. It's perfect." She knew that if she dared to utter a single complaint, he'd probably have her change into something else, or worse, demand she take it all off.
Angus gave a faint smirk, his eyes showing no emotion. "Since you're already dressed, go ahead."
"..."
Liesa couldn't help but feel bewildered as she stepped out. Her mysterious boss suddenly wanted some Geisha Coffee, and it was her job to find it.
Unfortunately, no one usually drank it, so it was stored in the warehouse at the back. She had to ask someone to take her there.
As she left the room, Sam entered. He nodded to Angus, "It's been handled."
Angus didn't reply but pulled out the eavesdropping device from his phone.
"…What are you doing here?" Liesa arrived at the warehouse and immediately spotted Silas standing outside, frowning.
He looked just as surprised to see her as she was to see him.
Just an hour ago, they'd been at each other's throats, exchanging harsh words and insults.
Now, an hour later, they were both standing there, acting like nothing had happened. The tension quickly dissipated, and both of them greeted each other with polite smiles.
"My cup was broken by one of the servants, so I asked them to find me another one," Silas smiled. "And Miss Valtieri, what brings you here?"
Liesa smiled lightly. "I'm here to find some Geisha Coffee. Angus asked for it."
"Angus does have a taste for Geisha Coffee," Silas replied, a slight pause before he added, "You're very thoughtful, Miss Valtieri."
He seemed to think of something and then smiled, a little wider this time. "I truly envy Angus. He has such a capable assistant like you."
Liesa couldn't help but chuckle. "You're mistaken, Mr. Romano. I'm his girlfriend, not his assistant," she said with a grin. "Did Miss Swanson tell you that?"
"If she's the one who said it, I'd have doubts. But, unfortunately, I heard it from another source," Silas replied, his eyes fixed on her, searching for any sign of hesitation.
When he had returned to his room earlier, an informant in Angus's house had sent him a message about their relationship, confirming what he suspected.
Liesa stared back at him without flinching. She didn't know why Silas was so certain, but she had a clear sense that this had something to do with Angus.
Silas, seeing her silent, smiled more openly. "So it's true, then?"
He glanced around briefly before stepping closer, lowering his voice. "How much did he pay you? I'll offer you three times what he gives you. No need to do anything for me—just pass me some of his movements every now and then. As for Angus's salary, you can still keep that."
Sam, who had been eavesdropping, couldn't help but speak up when the phone fell silent. "Sir, it seems Miss Valtieri doesn't know him. Otherwise, he wouldn't be trying to buy her off again. Should we trust her now?"
Angus didn't respond, quietly listening to the sounds on the phone.
Sam, watching him, thought,
Liesa paused for a moment before replying with a smirk, "Well, I'm all for making money. Angus offered me five million. You want to offer me three times that? That's fifteen million. If you can afford it, I'm all yours."
Sam, completely trusting her, stayed silent in disbelief.
