Chapter 10 - The Iron Dome of Haddon

The moon was hanging low over the Atlantic, casting a ghostly, silver glow on the waves that crashed relentlessly against the jagged cliffs of Azure Horizon. Inside the villa, the air was eerily still. To anyone else, it looked like a peaceful night in a billionaire's paradise, but for Aryan, the silence was screaming.

He wasn't sleeping. He couldn't.

Aryan stood in his private command center—a room hidden behind a massive mahogany bookshelf in his study. The walls were covered in floor-to-ceiling holographic displays that flickered with a soft blue light, monitoring every single heartbeat, every rustle of the wind, and every thermal signature within a five-mile radius of his $150 million fortress.

Upstairs, Mia was finally sleeping in a bed that cost more than their old apartment. Two elite female bodyguards, veterans of international special forces, stood outside her door. But Aryan knew that against a man like Viktor Volkov—the "Ghost of Haddon"—standard guards were nothing more than target practice. Volkov didn't send thugs; he sent ghosts.

Suddenly, a sharp, crimson pulse flashed on the main screen.

[Ding!]

[High-Level Threat Detected.]

[Detection: 12 Silent Submersibles approaching from the North-East coast.]

[Distance: 1.8 Miles. Estimated time to breach: 6 Minutes.]

Aryan's jaw tightened. A cold, predatory smile crept onto his face. Viktor hadn't even waited the full twenty-four hours he'd promised. He wanted to strike while Aryan was still basking in the joy of his sister's recovery. He wanted to catch the "new money" boy with his guard down. He wanted to show the city that all the billions in the world couldn't buy protection from a man who ruled the shadows.

"So, you want to play dirty, Viktor?" Aryan whispered, his voice vibrating with a dangerous calm. "You think you're the king of this city? Let's show you that you're just a cockroach in a god's playground."

He tapped the holographic interface. The System hummed in his mind, its mechanical voice now feeling like a trusted partner rather than a strange machine.

"System," Aryan commanded. "Volkov is sending his best. I want to meet them with something they haven't seen in their wildest nightmares. What are my defensive options?"

[Ding!]

[Defensive Tier 1: Mercenary Squad - $10 Million (Effectiveness: 40%)]

[Defensive Tier 2: Automated Pulse Turrets - $50 Million (Effectiveness: 75%)]

[Defensive Tier 3: The 'Aegis' Nano-Shield & Ghost Sentinels - $500 Million (Effectiveness: 100%)]

Aryan didn't even blink at the half-billion-dollar price tag. "The Aegis. And add the 'Orbital Eye' satellite strike package for another $200 Million. I want to watch their fear in 8K resolution."

[Ding!]

[Transaction Authorized: $700,000,000.00]

[System deploying the 'Iron Dome' Protocol...]

[Ding!]

[Total Expenditure: $700,000,000.00]

[Calculating 20x Cashback Multiplier...]

[Congratulations! $14,000,000,000.00 (14 Billion) Credited to Host's Account!]

Aryan looked at his phone screen for a split second. Fourteen Billion Dollars. The numbers were becoming so huge they almost felt unreal. But the vibration beneath his feet was very real.

Outside, hidden beneath the carefully manicured lawns and the rocky cliffs, massive black carbon-fiber towers began to rise silently. They glowed with a low, pulsating blue light. Suddenly, a shimmering dome of compressed air and ionized light—the Aegis—erupted from the towers, arching over the entire villa like a protective shell of God himself.

[The Breach]

From the dark, freezing waters, Viktor's 'Shadow Reapers' emerged. These were men who had toppled governments and assassinated kings. They moved with a terrifying, synchronized grace, dressed in stealth gear that absorbed all light. They carried EMP rifles specifically designed to fry any electronic security system on the planet.

Their leader, a man known as 'The Vulture,' signaled his team to move. They didn't see the Aegis shield; it was designed to be invisible to the naked eye until it was too late.

"Target in sight," The Vulture hissed into his comms. "Fire the grappling hooks. We enter through the second-floor balcony. Kill the boy, secure the girl."

One of the assassins fired a high-tension carbon-fiber hook. But the moment the metal tip touched the air ten feet away from the villa's walls, something impossible happened.

ZAP!

A blinding flash of blue lightning incinerated the hook instantly, turning it into a pile of ash that blew away in the wind. The assassins froze.

"What the...?" The Vulture stared. "Fire the EMP! Shut it down!"

They fired their heavy-duty electromagnetic pulses. In any other scenario, every light in Haddon City would have gone out. But against the Aegis, the pulses simply bounced off like pebbles hitting a mountain. The shimmering blue dome became visible for a second, a massive grid of light that made the assassins look like ants trapped in a jar.

Suddenly, the air around the rocks began to warp and distort. Twelve figures stepped out from the darkness. They looked like men, but they were taller, faster, and their eyes glowed with a synthetic, icy blue light. These were the 'Ghost Sentinels'—killing machines generated by the System.

In the command center, Aryan watched the thermal feed with cold detachment. He watched as the Vulture's face turned from professional calm to absolute, soul-crushing terror.

"Eliminate the threats," Aryan said, his voice echoing through the Sentinels' neural link.

"But leave the leader. I want him to carry a message back to his master."

What followed wasn't a fight. It was a slaughter.

The Ghost Sentinels didn't use guns. They didn't need them. They moved like blurs of shadow and light. One assassin tried to pull a knife, but a Sentinel moved so fast his human eyes couldn't even track it. The Sentinel grabbed the assassin's arm and snapped it like a dry twig before tossing him into the ocean.

In less than sixty seconds, eleven of the world's most dangerous men were gone.

Only The Vulture remained, trembling as he fell to his knees on the sand, surrounded by the glowing blue eyes of the Sentinels.

Aryan walked out onto the terrace. He stood at the railing, looking down at the beach. The blue light of the Aegis shield reflected in his eyes, making him look like something more than human.

"Go back to Viktor," Aryan's voice boomed through the villa's external speakers, amplified to sound like a storm.

"Tell him that every dollar he forces me to spend only makes me more powerful. Tell him that the 'Ghost of Haddon' is now officially a ghost of the past. If he even breathes in the direction of this villa again, I won't just kill his men. I will buy the ground he stands on and bury him alive in gold."

The Vulture didn't wait for a second invitation. He scrambled into the water, swimming frantically toward the dark horizon.

Aryan turned away and looked at the sky.

[Ding!]

[Mission Accomplished: The Invincible Fortress.]

[Level Up! You are now Level 4. Cashback Rate increased to 30x!]

Aryan looked at his new balance. $18.5 Billion. He felt a strange sense of calm. The boy who was kicked in the mud for a silver ring was gone. In his place stood a man who could change the world's economy with a single thought.

"System," Aryan said, walking back inside to check on Mia one last time. "Viktor's money is all in the city's banks and real estate, right?"

[Ding!]

[Confirmed. 90% of Viktor Volkov's wealth is tied to the Haddon National Bank.]

"Good," Aryan smirked. "Tomorrow morning, I'm going to buy that bank. And by noon, Viktor Volkov will be the poorest man in Haddon City."
