Chapter 12 - The Azure Flame Awakens

The arena became unimaginably crowded, feeling as if it were on the verge of exploding from the sheer pressure. Thousands—men, women, children, retired warriors, and mercenaries—had gathered for one reason: to witness a legend being forged. The cheers of the masses echoed off the stone walls, as if the earth itself were trembling with their excitement. The air was thick with sweat and torch smoke, making every breath a heavy task, yet no one dared to leave.

The drums beat in a frantic rhythm, like the heart of a giant beast, while the sights settled on the sands stained by countless past duels. Every stone in the ring seemed to breathe with the anticipation of the final clash.

Novarion sat motionless, his eyes like unsheathed blades. Beside him, Zayn, Lina, and Ray watched with bated breath, eager to see the full extent of Novarion's power. After Kairos's last display, the other bouts felt hollow. Novarion chose to return to the Time Chamber, focusing on his sword techniques and blinding speed. By dawn, he emerged, his body drenched in sweat but his power feeling doubled.

As he walked near the training grounds, he spotted Zayn training relentlessly. Novarion whispered to himself, "Zayn never stops... if I don't push harder, he will undoubtedly surpass me."

At sunrise, the atmosphere reached a fever pitch. Zayn had withdrawn from the tournament, leaving only the final showdown: The Rising Legend vs. The Strongest Hunter. The announcer, Ray, bellowed:

"The stakes have never been higher! The final match: Novarion vs. Kairos, the strongest hunter in the city!"

The two met in the center of the ring, eyes locked in a silent, deadly challenge.

"Begin!"

Kairos lunged with a standard strike. Novarion unsheathed his blade with calm grace, parrying effortlessly before launching a counter-offensive. The forces were equal; every clash sent shockwaves through the arena. Novarion smiled, "You're stronger than I thought. This is interesting."

Kairos remained silent, his strikes becoming more precise. Novarion activated his Lightning Aura, his speed skyrocketing as bolts of electricity coiled around his blade like heavenly wrath. Kairos responded with his Frost Blade, an icy shield encasing his steel to intercept the lightning strikes.

The intensity peaked as Kairos unleashed the Dance of the Frost Blade, a relentless wave of devastating attacks that froze the very air. The sand was covered in a thick layer of ice. Novarion narrowly evaded the frost and countered: "Flame Sword Technique: Ten-Fold Strike!"

Flames erupted from his blade, clashing with the ice shields in a violent explosion of steam and sparks. Kairos muttered with begrudging respect, "The Frozen Blade doubles in power... exciting!"

Novarion didn't stop. Using Ghost Step, he created afterimages, flickering across the ring at light-speed. Kairos, growing weary of the stalemate, unleashed Winter's Silence—a single strike that flash-froze everything in its path, including Novarion.

The crowd went silent. "It's over! Kairos wins!" the announcer cried.

But then, the System flashed: [Level 27 Reached: Frost Immunity Activated].

The ice shattered. The System asked: [Do you wish to evolve a technique?]. Novarion chose the Flame Sword, which transformed into the Azure Flame Sword. Its destructive heat was ten times greater than before.

The battle resumed with a new ferocity. The Azure Flames melted Kairos's frost instantly. Kairos, exhausted from overusing his mana, began to falter. Novarion saw his opening and combined his powers: [100x Lightning Aura + Azure Flame Sword].

The devastating strike shattered Kairos's final defense, sending him crashing to the ground.

"Unbelievable! Novarion is the Champion!"

The crowd erupted: "NO-VA-RION! NO-VA-RION!"

Novarion reached out a hand to help Kairos up. "You were strong. We must fight again."

Kairos took the hand, a slow smile of respect forming. "You... are beyond my expectations. I can't wait to see what you become.

"
