Caught in water leo was wholly submerged in maelstrom. Leo couldn't comprehend what was going on. He started to make frantic efforts to escape this bizarre situation, but to no avail. The more he struggled the deeper he sunk into.
'what the hell is wrong with this pool? Wasn't it just shallow water?' Leo was literally in tears, one after another crisis happening with him.
But after a few moments later he was in his own body no maelstrom no sinking in water. But a slight golden haze was surrounding him.
"This is.....what is this~"
Golden mist was surrounding him. Time was still standstill. Through his eyes, he sees that mysterious grid line that makes up his body and his surroundings still exist but golden mist that coming out of his body softening space around him. Slowly but surely.
"This is...a sign that space isn't locking me." Leo figured it out.
Leo was sure that he could move but he still couldn't feel his legs.
"I guess it's still not going to be easy to do."
He closed his eyes and focused on his meridians, by sensing the flow of mana within his body. Like veins, they spread throughout him. He first felt the faint streams in his head, then slowly guided his awareness downward—through his chest, abdomen, and finally toward his legs.
He guided the flow of mana downward with his senses. Though he still couldn't feel his physical body, mana was an entirely different matter. Through it, he could trace the pathways of his meridians.
Using mana, he sensed deeper—cells, tissues, muscles, even bones. The process drained him rapidly, but he pushed forward regardless.
"Yes… this is it."
Move backwards.
He forcefully tried to pull his legs back, but it wasn't easy. The space around him felt rigid, as if gripping him in place. A faint golden mist spread from his body, softening the invisible hold. Guided by mana, his legs slowly shifted backward.
He could already sense that Munic's Bosom was nearly depleted at this point. But he moved back enough to escape an immediate disaster.
Now it is time to deactivate the origin eye but except the commanding system to let it deactivate, he knows no other method.
"Origin Eye: DEACTIVATE."
The world slowly starts to motion as golden hue dissipates from his right eye. A claw that was nearly stopped mid air started to come faster and faster and at some point it blurred and struck the ground instantly. Time blank got off.
Claw still grazed his tunic but nothing happened to it. Rabbit's eyes glowed dark as he glared at Leo. Rabbit raided once again in fury but before its claw reached leo, a loud roar shook both of them.
"STOP."
Instructor jason stopped the rabbit in place using unknown skill.
Leo was on the ground on all four, his leg already given up. He was in sweat. 'damn it.... origin eye still cost me too much. Well that was supposed to happen since I already exhausted all mana from my core.'
He was also a little out of breath.
The instructor announced "duel is over and chika can't fight today anymore. The combat test ends here. Now non-combat will be tested."
Jason looked at Leo and asked in a neutral tone "are you okay? Kid."
"Ahh.. I'm okay. Thanks to you." Leo said in a hidden cold tone.
The instructor saw Leo all in sweat and out of breath kneeling on one knee. He thought what a weak willed brat, as expected of outskirt kid. I know commoner awakened can't be compared with noble kid who are given tough training since birth. But he is lower than average. He should tuck his tail and stay out of it.
I know it's already hard for a F Rank to face an D Rank beast. Not just outright giving up but even pissing himself huhh..... what should I say, it's so pathetic, cannot be compared with noble.
"Kid, as an awakened you should always have iron will and heart. Giving up just because the opponent is more powerful than you. That's not what awakened should do. So what if you are weak and non combat class. There are always ways of survival. It is good that I was here if you were on the outside you would be dead by now." Jason preached to Leo.
'what is this bastard talking about does he not know.....wait he certainly should not know. I guess no one detected any anomaly here. Well that was only one step... maybe not even one full step. That's good actually.'
"I am sorry teacher. I will keep your advice in mind." Leo answered Jason.
"Good as long as you understand. Now go and rest " Jason felt good inside giving advice to a naive commoner but outside he only spoke in calm behaviour. "And you should not initiate battle like this. You should keep in mind that you are still F-Rank. There are not many F-Rank awakened and are all without any skill augmented by the system. Well that's something no one knows better than you, even if they have a skill it's still F-Rank."
Leo smirked, yes you are right i wasn't given any skill in my awakening but I got 2 F Rank skill and later got a skill that is out of this world, the origin eye. And yes there is also a skill that even the system does not know what it is. Of course Leo only spoke in his heart.
"Ahh.. yes thank you so much." Leo said this much and dismissed himself from the arena.
On the side of the non combat group, especially Leo's old bullies were disappointed over Jason's intervention.
"Cheh, things were finally about to get interesting and jason had to intervene."
"Yeah, Ronard, you are right. It's not like the rabbit was about to kill him. It was just testing him. Wasn't it the whole point of gathering here?" A pale looking young boy spoke in a condensing tone.
"You guys are... Ugh, he is non combat of course he has to intervene. Didn't you see that rabbit, something was wrong with him." A girl with grey hair spoke from back. She was wearing leather armor giving a perfect feeling of corset. Perfectly fitting around her waist.
"Huh, Beverly? Since when did you start to look upon the commoner. Weren't you the one to provoke Kaelen against Leo? Now he is gone you want to change sides. But ..wait what're you doing here in our non combat area." Ronard spoke in surprise, on sudden appearance of the combat class awakener.
"Hah, don't get me wrong. I have no interest in trash like you and your group. I came here because.....well, I got nothing good to do so I thought let's see what you scums are up to these days. And just as I thought." She spoke without tempering anything.
"Bev, just because you awakened a good class doesn't give any right to speak rudely of us. Don't forget we are all nobles here." A guy spoke sitting beside Ronard and spoke fuming.
"Ha ha ha!! Ahh.... Juan! don't be so angered. She is rude because we got her inner thoughts. And if she is provoked that means we got it right. Maybe she has a crush on Leo. After all he used to get good marks in theory class. Even though he was bad at combat." Ronard spoke smirking.
"Ha ha ha!!!!!" She burst out laughing also holding her tummy.
"You guys are so funny, just as always. My trip here is indeed not completely wasted." She sneered mockingly.
Ronard's face sunk, he thought that she might take her sword out and threaten them but she instead found it so funny that burst out laughing. Was he wrong. But yes on another thought she doesn't even eye us, how can she have a crush on a commoner. She hates them to the bone.
Leo was getting out of the arena as everyone was doing it he has no interest in getting in the academy. Even if he wanted, he is out of energy to pass the test.
