"Did Penelope truly say that?"
After work had finished, Juliette explained her conversation with Adal, whilst he was finishing restacking some books on the top shelf.
"Yes, she did! I wasn't able to say anything else to her afterwards, but I felt so bad. She's really trying to change herself, Adal."
"I know."
Adal climbed down from the ladder and patted a hand on Juliette's head. The gesture always seemed to make her shy.
"Well done today, you did well."
Her eyes widened and a smile spread across her face.
"Thank you, sir!"
Afterwards, he made his way over to the desk where he had discarded his recently purchased trench coat. It was black, and when he wore it, it made him look distinguished and mysterious.
Juliette looked at him confused.
"It's already sunset, Adal. Where are you going?"
He tossed the woman a key and made his way to the door.
"Wait here, lock up, and don't touch the Outer Realm Gate. I'll be back soon, I'm just paying Penelope a visit."
