The butler had already made it clear that he intended to put his lady on the throne, so what made Lucian think he'd be willing to help the competition?
"I'd give it up," Lucian finally spoke up.
"Hm?" Adrian asked, not quite hearing what the prince had said....or at least he pretended not to.
"I'm the next in line after my father," the prince said, "I'm willing to give up the throne."
Adrian silently looked at him for a while; the expression on his face showed that he was being completely serious, which was quite surprising.
He expected the prince to at least withdraw the request for help.
Not offer to abdicate.
«That's unexpected,» Noctis's voice was heard in Adrian's head, as even the cat was quite surprised.
