He instantly let go of Jake's hands and feet, causing Jake's last kick to hit nothing, and he fell to the ground with a thud.
Looking exceptionally pathetic.
After the brief exchange, Jake ended up on the losing side every time, which was very hard for him to accept.
"Don't move...!"
"Move again and I'll blow your head off—!"
Just as Jake was about to get up and continue his attack, a cold muzzle was instantly pressed against his forehead.
A pleasant but quite cold female voice rang in his ear. Looking up, he saw that it was indeed Sherry, holding her Glock 22 to Jake's head.
This was incredibly dramatic.
The two who were supposed to cooperate in the original plot had unexpectedly become opponents at this moment; it was truly strange.
Just now, when Sherry saw Jake suddenly attack Javier, a wave of hostility had already locked onto Jake. Although the two were a sort of ship in the original plot, Javier was her family now. Regardless of what was happening, anyone who dared to harm Javier was Sherry's enemy.
Therefore, without any hesitation, the moment Jake was defeated, Sherry immediately rushed forward, pressed her pistol against Jake's head, and warned him in a cold voice.
"..."
On the other side, Javier had a pained expression as he watched Sherry suddenly hold Jake at gunpoint.
The style and plot seemed to have deviated too severely; it was a total mess. Although Javier didn't want the two of them to fall for each other, nor did he want Jake, this blond punk, to easily steal away his precious little Sherry, he hadn't intended for them to start fighting. After all... have you ever seen an intended ship turn against each other and fight?
This was too bizarre...!
"..."
"You, a Blond-haired girl... do you even know how to shoot?"
As for Jake,
when he saw that the person holding a gun to his head was actually Sherry, that Blond-haired girl, he couldn't help but let out a frustrated laugh.
Being defeated by Javier in just a few moves was already humiliating enough,
but now, a grand Mercenary like himself had been taken captive by a little girl. How could the highly prideful Jake endure this? So, without hesitation, he squinted and spoke provocatively...
Volume 9 Resident Evil 6: Chapter 36 The Ship is Gone
"..."
"A Blond-haired girl... do you even know how to shoot?"
Without a doubt, these highly provocative words had enraged Sherry. Since both were orphans without parents,
their personalities were very similar—both were very prideful. That was why they were paired up in the original game's plot.
But now,
for the sake of his pride,
Jake actually took the initiative to provoke Sherry. The result was naturally predictable. Sherry looked at Jake, who was younger than her,
and her lips couldn't help but twitch.
She ranted inwardly: You call me a Blond-haired girl? Then you're just a little brat whose hair hasn't even fully grown in yet.
After all,
if you really calculated by age, Sherry was indeed about ten years older than Jake. During the Raccoon City incident,
Jake had only just been born.
It was only because of the G-Virus that Sherry's appearance looked so young. One should know that Sherry was already approaching thirty,
similar to Ashley.
As for Jake, he was a proper twenty-year-old youth now, making him the true greenhorn.
At the same time,
this was the real reason why Javier had said Sherry was trying to rob the cradle. As fellow bio-virus infectees, Sherry was much older than Jake; she was old enough to be his aunt.
But right now,
this Blockhead Jake completely failed to see Sherry's true age and had the audacity to call her a Blond-haired girl. How could the usually arrogant and willful Sherry endure this!
"You're asking for it...!"
And so,
without any hesitation,
looking at Jake's punchable face, Sherry didn't hold back at all.
She instantly flipped the Glock in her hand, her slender fingers gripping the barrel, and slammed the pistol grip hard against Jake's handsome face.
She usually hated these punkish youngsters the most; they were no different from the group of trust-fund playboys who pursued her at the Noble school.
They thought they were charming and cool,
but in reality, Sherry detested this type the most.
So, she didn't hesitate because of Jake's identity and intended to teach him a lesson directly. After all, she had taught those Trust-fund kids the same way at the Noble school, eventually becoming the Big sister there; her strength was not weak at all.
Many people might overlook Sherry's physical combat skills,
but in truth, Sherry's physical combat was not weak at all—it was actually quite strong. This was due to the powerful combat skills she had gradually acquired under the hellish training of her guardians, Javier and Lisa.
Especially in recent years,
to ensure Sherry wouldn't be at a disadvantage, Javier had engaged in combat training with her almost every day.
Combined with the fact that she was a fused infectee of the G-Virus, would she really lose to Jake with his progenitor virus? It was truly uncertain—!
One must never overlook the fact that Sherry was a G-Virus fused infectee just because she was a girl.
Under the enhancement of the virus, the strength disadvantage between men and women had completely vanished.
In fact...
the basic enhancement capabilities of the G-Virus were much stronger than those of the progenitor virus. After all, the G-Virus had always been an extremely violent virus.
It had almost no threshold for infection.
Once injected, one could gain terrifying power and transform into an infected being like G William, possessing immense strength while retaining a portion of their sanity. It was the most straightforward and brutal of all viruses.
"Thud—!!!"
A muffled sound echoed.
Before Jake could react, Sherry slammed the pistol grip hard into his face.
A wave of sharp pain followed.
Reaching out in disbelief, Jake found that his cheek was injured, with streaks of blood flowing down his handsome face.
"You dare hit me...?"
Looking at the blood on his fingers,
Jake's face was filled with shock. It was one thing to be easily taught a lesson by a man like Javier, as the man's aura was dangerous,
but to be hit hard with a pistol grip by a Blond-haired girl like Sherry was something Jake couldn't accept.
Being hit by a woman was a total disgrace. Since joining BSAA, this was his most humiliating experience in days.
"I hit you because of your big mouth. Calling me 'Blond-haired girl' over and over—do you think you're so old? You're just a little brat whose hair hasn't even grown in. What have you got to be so smug about?"
Looking at Jake,
Sherry snorted and retorted sarcastically without hesitation. Not only were her physical combat skills excellent, but she was also second to none when it came to being sharp-tongued.
Because Sherry knew
that when out in the world, one not only had to be able to win a physical fight but also a verbal one to avoid being bullied.
Clearly...
while Jake was strong, he wasn't very good at trash-talking.
He just had a punkish way of speaking. Like his father, Wesker, he had no talent for it; they were both men of few words.
"You're dead...!"
However,
even if he couldn't curse, Jake certainly knew how to fight back. While Sherry stood there with her hands on her hips, arrogant and domineering, Jake didn't indulge her. He leaped up from the ground with a start.
He swung a large fist toward Sherry's face. Although he had no habit of hitting women, as he found it shameful—
after all, the mother who raised him was a woman—he never showed mercy to shameless women.
But...
to Jake's surprise,
Sherry was not as weak as he had imagined. Seeing Jake's fist swinging toward her face, the blonde girl gave a disdainful smile.
She immediately reached for her thigh and pulled out the melee weapon Javier had given her: a Stun baton, a black iron rod about the length of a police baton.
She swung it from a corner Jake hadn't noticed, striking his swinging arm hard.
"Thud—!!!"
Another muffled sound.
Before the fist could reach Sherry's face, it was quickly knocked back by the baton. Jake looked at the suddenly appearing rod in disbelief,
and his aching arm. It hurt immensely, feeling as if the bone had been broken. He hadn't expected Sherry to be hiding a weapon.
"Hitting a girl... you're one of the rudest men I've ever met...!"
Having knocked back Jake's fist, Sherry's eyes narrowed, and she spoke with merciless irony.
Then, her thumb pressed the switch on the Stun baton. In the next second, a surge of azure electricity instantly wrapped around the metal part of the baton.
"Click...!"
"Zzzzz—!!!!"
A crackling sound immediately came from the Stun baton. Holding it, Sherry didn't hesitate at all.
She slammed it hard into Jake's ribs under his armpit. A powerful current surged through his entire body.
Even with the progenitor virus in him, he couldn't withstand the ravaging electricity. Jake's body quickly stiffened.
Seeing this,
Sherry didn't hesitate and took the opportunity to launch a final attack. Releasing the Stun baton and turning off the current, she delivered a boot to Jake's abdomen,
causing him to double over.
The final blow from the baton, now without electricity, slammed hard onto Jake's spine, making him collapse onto the ground like a frog with a thud.
His posture was even more pathetic.
Effortlessly, in just a few moves, Sherry had dealt with the genius youth, Jake.
This was truly a case of the new generation surpassing the old. This Blond-haired girl was way too fierce!
Javier: "..."
As for Javier on the other side,
he was staring at the scene in stunned silence. Good grief, the worst-case scenario had happened: Jake and Sherry hadn't formed a ship,
and they had actually started fighting. This was too ridiculous.
Especially when Sherry suddenly jabbed the Stun baton he had given her into Jake, it made Javier's heart jump.
It seemed this ship was truly dead in the water.
