Chapter 541 - 541

However, the expression on Rebecca's face wasn't curiosity, but deep concern.

She was a little afraid that Javier had blindly injected a bio-virus out of a desire for power.

Since all bio-viruses have certain side effects, Rebecca feared that Javier might one day turn into a monster.

"This question..."

"I'm sorry, Rebecca. I can't answer you for the time being, but once the current danger has passed, I will give you a proper explanation, okay?"

Facing Rebecca's concerned inquiry, a wave of warmth surged through Javier's heart. He knew the girl was worried about his health.

However, Javier did not intend to tell Rebecca about the virus yet, because a bio-virus with no side effects, was far too shocking for Rebecca and the outside world.

So, Javier planned to wait until this matter was over, to tell Rebecca the whole story in detail, while also asking if she had any intention of being injected with the T-Virus.

Meanwhile, on the other side,

Sarah Mineral Water Company.

In the bustling heart of New York, where land is worth its weight in gold, stood a skyscraper named the Sarah Mineral Water Company.

Glenn had named it after his deceased fiancée.

After years of hard work, Glenn had washed his hands of being an Arms Dealer smuggling biological weapons and transitioned into a Merchant specializing in mineral water.

Using the wealth accumulated from his days as an Arms Dealer,

he was quickly able to build a decent-sized mineral water company. However, while the company sold mineral water on the surface, it was secretly researching bio-viruses.

Furthermore, by using the mineral water distribution channels,

he slowly spread the viral infection through the water. By now, Glenn had already infected eighty percent of the population of New York and nearby cities with the first strain of the animality virus.

This included nearby tap water sources and lakes.

With a single command, he could release the second trigger-type strain across the entire city.

Immediately, all of New York would fall into panic; this was Glenn's method of taking revenge against the US Government.

"Three years..."

"Do you know how I've lived through this? Damn US Government... just wait, I'll make you pay the price. Prepare to taste my fury!"

On the rooftop of the skyscraper,

the arch-villain Glenn couldn't help but mutter to himself as he looked down at the dense points of light and the countless throngs of people.

Glenn Arias.

He had pale, short-cropped hair, a weathered but handsome face, and eyes that were always filled with melancholy.

Judging by looks alone, he was an elegant, noble gentleman. His black suit and rose-red vest were perfectly coordinated, exuding the charm of a middle-aged man.

As the sole survivor of a US Government drone strike, Glenn naturally harbored an extreme hatred for them.

It was actually quite laughable.

To kill a heinous Arms Dealer like Glenn, the US Government didn't hesitate to deploy a drone strike that killed innocent civilians nearby.

But the ironic twist was, Glenn, the target, didn't die, while the innocent civilians around him were all killed. One had to admit, it was truly absurd.

After surviving, Glenn began to contact the remaining followers of The Illuminados in Spain.

He purchased Plaga parasites from them and conducted research by combining them with his own virus samples; the combination of the two gave birth to the animality virus, also known as the a-virus.

In the movie version, it wasn't explicitly stated whether this white-haired man—who looked like a lean version of Yashiro Nanakase—had injected himself with the a-virus.

But according to Javier's guess, there was a high probability he had been injected and modified, just without any particularly obvious changes.

After all, the greatest feature of the a-virus was control, not physical enhancement.

Its physical boost was very slight, no different from the ordinary T-Virus.

It could only enhance physical fitness, so it was normal that no mutations were visible. His right-hand woman, Maria, hadn't changed much either.

After all, if he hadn't injected the a-virus, Javier didn't believe Glenn could defeat Chris in close-quarters combat. In the castle at the beginning of the movie, Glenn and Chris had fought once.

For an Arms Dealer to be able to beat the muscular and incredibly strong Chris, it was simply impossible.

So Javier subconsciously assumed he had injected the a-virus. After all, Chris's martial arts were no joke. Of course, maybe the guy really was possessed by Yashiro Nanakase.

*Hum...*

*Clack—!!!*

At that moment, the elevator doors on the rooftop opened, and his right-hand duo, Diego the Bio-Monster and Maria, returned.

But to Glenn's confusion, the two did not have the Rebecca he wanted to see with them. In fact, they looked quite battered, as if they had sustained many injuries.

"What happened...?"

Frowning slightly, Glenn turned around and looked over the father and daughter, Diego and Maria, before asking in a low, displeased voice.

Failing to bring the woman he had been longing for made Glenn very unhappy, as he really wanted to see how much Rebecca resembled his fiancée, Sarah.

"Sorry... Glenn, we failed."

"There was a monster protecting her. We had already infiltrated the Institute, but there was a man with the woman you wanted."

"That man possesses power even more terrifying than my father's. I suspect he's a Bioweapon Soldier secretly created by the US Government."

"Specifically meant to protect that woman. The two of us couldn't beat him and were almost captured. After careful consideration, I chose to retreat."

Looking at the angry man before her, Maria was silent for a moment before slowly explaining. To be honest, the reason sounded absurd.

She was afraid Glenn wouldn't believe her, but unfortunately, that was the truth of the matter.

Of course, Maria had guessed Javier's identity to be a Bioweapon Soldier secretly created by the US Government. After all, it was no secret that the US Government was also researching bio-viruses.

"..."

"Bioweapon Soldier?"

The moment he heard Maria's words, Glenn frowned. His first thought was that the reason was ridiculous, but after thinking about it, he felt there was a significant possibility.

After all, bio-viruses had been around for so long, and everyone knew their power. There was no reason for the US Government not to research them.

Their progress might even be faster than that of bio-terrorists like them, so it was possible they had created Bioweapon Soldiers.

"How are your injuries? Are you affected?"

"I understand. You two go rest for now. Tomorrow, I will arrange a more thorough plan to kidnap that woman, Rebecca."

"Besides, it doesn't matter if the US Government has Bioweapon Soldiers. Our virus has already spread throughout New York, and they won't be able to detect it. When the time is right, we can still catch them off guard!"

Ultimately,

Glenn chose not to punish Diego and Maria.

After all, they were his right-hand assistants. With a wave of his hand, Glenn dismissed them to rest.

Since Diego and Maria couldn't capture Rebecca, he would have to take action personally!

Volume 10: Resident Evil Village, Vendetta - Chapter 10: Five-Star Hotel

A five-star hotel in New York—

The dining table was covered with all kinds of delicacies: steak, lobster, Emperor crab, abalone and sea cucumber, pasta, escargot, mushroom soup, and dessert cakes.

There was also wine shimmering with a beautiful red light. Javier had ordered almost all the expensive dishes in the five-star hotel.

He also opened a bottle of aged red wine, making it a standard high-end Western meal. Although he knew these things weren't as rich or delicious as the food from his home country, China,

he had to admit,

each type of cuisine had its own characteristics. The biggest feature of Western food was its refinement and beauty, which could greatly satisfy the dining atmosphere.

After all, for Europeans in the Middle Ages, dining

was just a ritual, a ritual to highlight one's noble style. Whether it tasted good or not was another matter; as long as it looked good, it was fine.

Middle Ages Europeans liked to perform a lot of pre-meal rituals, and the dishes themselves emphasized appearance, refinement, and neatness.

Western food was less like food and more like art.

The various sauces drizzled on top, besides preventing the food itself from being too bland, served more as decoration. This unique cooking method created the status Western food held today.

In contrast, Chinese food paid more attention to the combination of color, aroma, and taste. While it had bright colors, most were the red and green of scallions, cilantro, and chili used as garnishes.

However, despite its shortcomings, the guests—Javier, Rebecca, and Sissy Becky—were very satisfied with the Western dining atmosphere.

In the high-end hotel dining area, next to a large expanse of transparent floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the interior was filled with warm lighting, and the table was laden with a vast array of fine food and wine.

The melodious sound of a piano drifted over, and looking down, one could see the bustling night view of New York. This was the dining atmosphere of the upper class.

As women, Rebecca and Sissy Becky thoroughly enjoyed it. They usually didn't have many opportunities to go to a five-star hotel for dinner.

With this rare chance, they naturally had to feast.

Rebecca already had a shelled lobster stuffed in her mouth, completely lacking any lady-like poise, showing her true self.

Although her good friend Becky maintained her decorum, she had actually tasted almost every delicacy on the table. She couldn't eat much, but she had to try everything to do justice to their stomachs.

Of course, as a member of the US Government, Rebecca was a dignified female PhD in biology; it was impossible for her to have no money for a five-star hotel.

Through the various experimental projects she had developed over the years, Rebecca was actually quite a wealthy woman, with a few million dollars in savings.

But because she was usually so busy with work, Rebecca simply had no time to come to such places to eat. Usually, she just grabbed a few bites of whatever was available.

Now, with Javier treating them, the two of them forgot about the danger they had just encountered at the Institute.
