Chapter 20 - Other Women

 Ryan's POV

As much as he would have loved to play the role of a superstitious rich man. Going as far as to visit traditional healers. Or have priests and priestesses pray over him, paying them to give him talismans.

All of that done in an effort to rid himself of the curse of Vivian's pussy.

Ryan Terrell was a practical man.

Once he'd gotten over the panic of only being able to come thinking of her, and also not being able to feel any physical attraction towards other women. He had come to a realization. As lovely as spending time with her had been, Vivian Rose was not some kind of witch. She had not cast any spell on him. At least not in the mystical sense.

The only enchantment that she had woven over Ryan was because of her novelty.

Like any other human being, Ryan was instantly drawn to the odd thing out. In his world he was used to women who fit a certain mold, never deviating too much from it. Vivian was completely different from those women. From the shape of her body, to the way she moved, even the way she talked, laughed and dressed, was something that Ryan was not used to. So it made sense that he was now fixated on her.

She was something different… something new.

Not only was Vivian's allure the fact that she was a kind of woman that he had never been with before. The way that Vivian herself had behaved around him, had also played a huge factor. There had been no pretenses from her, when they had been together.

Not once had he gotten the feeling that she was acting a certain way, because she thought it would be something that he would like.

The only time that he had caught her in a lie had been that weird moment when she had sucked her stomach in for whatever reason. Other than that, she had been genuine.

A woman who had truly been enjoying her time with him, no fake orgasms, no over the top moans.

She had just been there for the pleasure of it, the same as him.

Not only that, her refreshing honesty had done something to Ryan. He too had been able to let go for the first time in eons. Knowing that the woman he was having sex with simply wanted to sleep with him for the sake of it had been freeing.

She had not slept with him because he was a billionaire, and she also had not done it for the notoriety of having been one of the many women that Ryan had taken to bed. The fact that she also had not demanded money afterwards was a plus.

But viewing it all with a critical eye, Ryan was realizing something.

All of the freedom that he had felt while with Vivian, had also trapped him in a way.

He craved what Vivian had given him now. A woman who had literally wanted to be with him just because he was him, someone without any expectations.

After acknowledging that Ryan realized that the solution to his Vivian problem was simple.

In order to get over her, he could not visit the same haunts that he was used to and expect to find a cure. He had to go to places where women similar to Vivian were, once he entered such establishments and went home with one of them. Having sex with them would clear all thoughts of Vivian out of his mind. She would no longer stand out amongst the rest.

Doing his best not to stick out too much in the cafe that he had walked into, Ryan adjusted his sunglasses. The cafe as far as cafes went was alright. It had nothing on the places that he normally went to, but it was passable. And more importantly, it was full of regular women.

Taking a sip of his latte. Ryan looked around subtly, trying to pick one out from the group. Once he had a target in his sights, he knew that he would have no problems chatting them up and getting them to go home with him. Even without them knowing his name, Ryan knew how to make a woman feel special and how to charm the socks off of her, taking in the women. His eyes automatically went to those with slimmer builds.

Builds like the ones that he was used to, forcing himself away from them. He moved his gaze over to the curvier women, the ones that reminded him of his Vivian.

His Vivian?!

Shaking his head, he forced the slip up out of his mind. Vivian, just Vivian, not his, just Vivian Rose.

Looking at the women who had a similar build to Vivian's, Ryan tried to narrow things down. There was one wearing a blue beret. She was laughing softly as she turned the pages of her book every few minutes. Ryan actually considered getting up and going over to her, but something about her just was not enticing enough for him. Perhaps if her brown eyes were grey he would have gone over to her.

The next woman was on her phone. He stared at her, realizing she had a lovely smile. But it had nothing on Vivian's slightly impish one, so Ryan did not approach her. Without meaning to, he found himself going through most of the women in the cafe and somehow finding them wanting.

His dismissal of them was not in a judgmental way where he was looking at their bodies like they were objects. Instead, every single one no matter how cute or pretty they were, or how warm and loving they appeared, just seemed to lack something.

Their hair not dark enough, eyes not quite the shade he was looking for…

There was always something that he just could not pinpoint. In the end, Ryan left the cafe feeling disappointed. On his way back to his penthouse, he finally accepted the truth that he had not wanted to face. It would not have mattered how gorgeous the women in the cafe were, or how gorgeous any other woman was.

At the end of the day, they were not Vivian Rose. And that was a very big problem for Ryan now.

The preschool teacher, had him in a chokehold.
