Chapter 56 - CHAPTER 56— Behemoth (1)

CHAPTER 56— Behemoth (1)

The battlefield had descended into complete chaos.

Burning stone-armored Chimeras charged across the cave like a living avalanche.

Ashwin aimed his wand toward the charging undead chimeras.

Wind spiraled.

Thunder crackled.

The mana around him compressed violently.

"Tempest Lance."

Several bolts of lightning accelerated by swirling wind tore across the battlefield.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The front line of chimeras exploded apart.

Some were reduced to dust instantly.

Others lost entire limbs as the lightning ripped through their bodies.

Seris's eyes widened.

'Who is this guy?'

These weren't ordinary undead.

They were Level Three Necro Chimeras.

Yet Ashwin was cutting through them as if they were made of paper.

'Fuck!'

Seris bit his lips.

"Rokch, Migl, Sani."

He immediately commanded.

The three spirits moved.

Migl opened its jaws.

A torrent of dark orange flames erupted forward.

Sani released a pressurized water cannon.

Meanwhile Rokch lowered its head and unleashed a gray beam from his horn toward the advancing undead.

The beam struck the Chimeras.

Stone rapidly spread across their bodies.

Their bones thickened.

Rock armor formed over their limbs.

The undead monsters became even larger.

Even more durable.

The flame shot by migl quickly covered those armoured Chimeras.

Now burning stone-armored Chimeras were charging toward the students.

"Incoming!"

The students in the first layer immediately launched their spells.

Wind blades.

Flame bolts.

Earth projectiles.

Water projectiles.

But the results were far worse than before.

The spells struck the stone armor and barely left scratches.

"Tch!"

"They got stronger!"

"What kind of enhancement is this!?"

The attacks slammed into the armored undead.

Yet most of them barely slowed down.

Cracks appeared.

But the monsters continued charging.

Then—

TTRRSSSHHH—

Tttrssuus....

But still...

"....?"

There was still one person who's attacks were still effective against the stone Armoured Chimeras—

A compressed projectile of lighting and wind hit a burning stone armored Chimera and it's Armour got shattered.

A second bolt followed immediately.

BOOM!

The Chimera disintegrated into ash.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Ashwin's attacks never missed.

Every spell landed exactly where it needed to.

His first attack destroyed the armor.

His second finished the target.

Seris stared at him in awe.

'Just who is this guy?'

'He is even dealing with the Armoured Chimeras like it's nothing.'

Ashiwn's first spells were piercing through the Armour of the Chimeras and then his second spell was turning them into Ashes.

His expression remained calm.

His silver-gray eyes observed the battlefield without the slightest panic.

The wind and lightning around him moved like extensions of his own body.

'This dark mage...'

Ashwin narrowed his eyes.

'He is not only using level 3 necromancy and creating chimeras but also enhancing them with his heretical spirit magic.'

Ashwin's eyes Sharpened.

'He is atleast a mid-depth stage 2.'

Ashwin's attacks never slowed.

One chimera after another fell.

But still there were too many Chimeras to handle and the Chimeras were closing the Distance.

The battlefield descended into chaos.

Burning stone-armored chimeras charged from every direction.

The spirits too, continuously bombarded the students.

The cave trembled from explosions.

Students shouted warnings.

Spells collided.

Mana flashed.

The freshmen of Grand Aetherion could do little more than desperately defend themselves.

It was chaos, pure Chaos.

But even after all this chaos, Ashwin was still standing with a calm face there wasn't even a hint of tension on his voice.

"Everyone spread out!"

His voice cut through the chaos.

He commanded students like a general of war. And students naturally obeyed his command.

"Group 3 Circle form."

At those words the sanctum students moved immediately and formed several groups of 3 people and stood in a form of half Circle.

One student stood at the front.

Two remained behind.

Whenever a Chimera charged—

The front student intercepted it.

The rear students launched supporting spells.

The non-sanctum students hurriedly copied them.

Some Chimeras were now out of the cave but the students with their formation was doing well defending against them.

A fireball struck a Chimera's shoulder.

A wind blade severed its leg.

An earth spike pierced its ribs.

Yet despite their coordination, the students were still struggling.

The undead simply refused to stay dead.

Some continued crawling after losing limbs.

Others kept fighting even with half their bodies destroyed.

One student barely dodged a flaming claw.

Another was forced backward after blocking a charge.

The battlefield grew increasingly chaotic.

Yet amid the chaos—

Ashwin remained composed.

The wind and thunder were dancing around his body like loyal servants.

Every movement was precise.

Every attack calculated.

Every command effective.

Seris watched him from the rear.

His jaw tightened.

'I need to deal with that guy first.'

The scattered remains of destroyed Chimeras suddenly began moving.

Bones rattled.

Fragments rose from the ground.

Dark mana surged through the cave.

The broken skeletons merged together.

Twisted.

Expanded.

Combined.

Soon a massive creature stood before everyone.

Silence spread across the battlefield.

The monster towered over the undead around it.

It's body was formed from countless fused skeletons.

Dozens of skulls were embedded throughout its torso.

Jagged ribs protruded from its back like giant spears.

Its elongated arms nearly touched the ground.

Dark violet mist leaked continuously from the gaps between its bones.

Every movement produced the sound of grinding skeletons.

The creature looked less like a monster—

And more like a walking mass grave.

Necromancy Level Three — Grave Titan.

Students instinctively stepped backward.

Even Ashwin narrowed his eyes.

"Rokch."

Seris pointed forward.

The stone spirit charged.

Its body dissolved into countless fragments of rock.

The fragments flew toward the Grave Titan.

Layer after layer of stone covered the giant undead.

It's bones disappeared beneath thick rocky armor.

Massive stone plates formed over its chest.

Its arms became gigantic pillars of stone.

Its skull was covered by a horned stone helm.

Jagged stone spikes erupted from its shoulders.

Its claws became enormous rocky blades.

Its ribs became armored protrusions sharp enough to impale monsters.

Dark-purple flames leaked through cracks in the armor.

Like lava flowing beneath a mountain.

Seris lowered his wand slowly.

A grin appeared on his face.

The ground trembled as the giant took a single step.

Spirit Enhancement — Stoneclad Grave Titan.

Behemoth.

The battlefield fell silent for a moment.

Then the colossal undead slowly lifted its head.

And roared.

The entire battlefield shook.

And for the first time since the battle had begun—

Even the students of Grand Aetherion felt genuine fear.
