"Ah!!!"
The wizard who had been begging the Silver Spear for mercy collapsed to the ground, clutching his chest and screaming miserably. His agonizing cries made everyone around him tremble with fear. Although many people thought he deserved it, and some even felt a sense of schadenfreude, more felt a chill in their hearts. Only then did they clearly realize how ruthless these Silver Spears were. They were so cold-hearted even toward their former collaborators, so it was imaginable that they would be even more reckless when dealing with others. Thinking about their bleak future, everyone's expressions became bitter.
After torturing the wizard with the Cruciatus Curse for about ten seconds, the Silver Spear stopped and then roared again, "Time to eat!"
As his voice rang out, several wizards suddenly appeared in the corridor in the middle of the prison. They were all dressed as Silver Spears, and from their appearance, it was clear that they had been lurking around the cells using the Disillusionment Charm. Before this, everyone had thought there were no guards here.
*So we've been monitored all this time? In that case, our earlier shouts about wanting to escape must have been a joke in the eyes of the Silver Spears.*
After appearing, these Silver Spears began to slowly patrol in front of each cell. As they passed each cell, they gently pointed their wands, and with their casting, a large wooden basin appeared out of thin air on the long table in the compartment. Soon, the Silver Spears completed the meal distribution, then they gently waved their wands again, and immediately disappeared from sight. They did not say a single word from beginning to end. They were like invisible ghosts, and the wizards could not detect their movements when they were active inside the cells.
This cold behavior made everyone feel an invisible pressure. They didn't even dare to complain much, because they weren't sure if others were hiding around them.
"Everyone shut up and eat." The Silver Spear glanced coldly at everyone. "You will receive food once at noon and once in the evening every day. If you are thirsty, drink water from the wooden bucket in your respective rooms. The water in the bucket will be refilled for you every day. For the rest of the time, stay quiet. If anyone makes a loud noise or disobeys the rules, don't blame me for being impolite to you. However, as long as you respect the rules here, I am still very benevolent." After the leading Silver Spear finished speaking with a sneer, he also waved his wand and concealed his figure.
Although the Silver Spears were no longer visible in the entire warehouse, everyone still dared not act presumptuously, and even spoke in hushed tones. They knew these guards were secretly hiding in the dark. Now that they were under someone else's roof, they could only comply for now.
"What kind of food is this? It's just a bucket of boiled potatoes." Jimmy, who happened to be in the same cell as Jason, walked to the wooden basin, pulled out a boiled potato with some dirt still on its skin, and said indignantly.
"Come on, just eat what you've got. At least they won't take our lives." A more optimistic wizard next to him leaned closer and whispered to Jimmy, "And you'd best not speak ill of those people to their faces, lest they hear you. You saw it, those guards haven't left; they're just invisible."
"But!" Jimmy was still a bit unwilling to complain, but he also knew that what the other person said was true. Now their lives were in someone else's hands, and if they angered the other party and something bad happened, it would be troublesome. Thinking of this, Jimmy still held back from opening his mouth, but when he saw another wizard next to him, he immediately became furious.
This wizard was one of the two patrol team members who had troubled him last night. Now, Jimmy was unlucky enough to be locked up with this guy, and he was also one of those who had just begged the Silver Spear for mercy.
"This guy is clearly in league with those villains; they're all lackeys of the Silver Spears," Jimmy muttered resentfully to himself, then, still not satisfied, he glared fiercely at the other party.
"What are you looking at?" The wizard also noticed Jimmy at this point and walked over, cursing in a low voice, "I'm telling you, it's best to be honest here. You just heard the Silver Spears adults say that I'm not like you guys. I'm going to get out of here someday. If you piss me off, just wait until I deal with you later!" After uttering the harsh words, the wizard haphazardly grabbed a few potatoes from the wooden basin and returned to sit on the large bunk nearby.
"You!" Jimmy, being a hot-headed young man, wanted to lash out after being threatened so blatantly. But before he could make a move, Jimmy felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head and saw that it was his old captain, Jason. Jason held Jimmy back and silently shook his head at him, clearly not wanting the young man to do anything foolish.
"Captain, look at that guy acting all smug. He's clearly a prisoner here too, yet he dares to shout like that. Not to mention, they're partly responsible for us ending up in this situation." Although Jimmy had left the park, he still habitually called the other person captain. Jimmy knew Jason didn't want him to act impulsively, but he couldn't help but complain in a whisper.
"I know that guy is even more hateful, but if you go up and pick a fight, you'll end up attracting the guards; wouldn't that just let that guy have a laugh?" Jason sighed, "Didn't you notice that besides yelling at you a couple of times, that guy didn't dare to act presumptuously at all?"
"What do you mean?" Jimmy looked at Jason, somewhat confused.
"That Silver Spear only made two moves after appearing: once against someone who wanted to escape, and once against the guy who incited the patrol team members to cause trouble. And they didn't care whether the other party had any connection with the club. Clearly, they will only punish those who actively cause trouble. So that guy was just speaking out of turn; he wouldn't dare to do anything out of line, otherwise he would be the one who suffers." Jason then specifically glanced at the wizard who had sat back in the corner. "I think that guy is deliberately trying to provoke you. If you go up and argue with him, or get into a fight, you will definitely attract the Silver Spear's punishment."
"So that's how it is." Jimmy was still a bit simple-minded and hadn't thought that far ahead. He then realized how malicious the other party was and couldn't help but glare at the wizard again, but he didn't do anything out of line.
Seeing Jimmy calm down, Jason breathed a sigh of relief. Then, as if he had thought of something, he turned and went to the bars on one side of the cell.
"Friend, how is your injury? Nothing serious, right?" The wizard who was initially injured by that Silver Spear was right next to Jason.
The wizard also came to the edge of the cell, rubbing his chest indifferently, "It's just a minor injury, thanks for your concern. By the way, my name is Bob. I used to work in the East German park. How about you, friend?"
"You can just call me Jason. I used to work in West Germany." Jason had a good impression of this wizard who stood up for everyone. "Thank you for speaking up for us earlier. If you need any help, just ask."
"Heh, we're all birds in a cage now; how much worse can it get?" Bob sighed self-deprecatingly, then seriously leaned his head to the bars and asked in a low voice, "I saw you stood up for your friend just now. Are you at odds with those patrol team members?"
Seeing this, Jason also leaned his head closer, "I don't know what your park was like, but back when we were in our park, no one liked those guys, let alone now. They might turn from prisoners into our jailers any day."
"It seems that besides our workplaces being different, everything else is very similar." Bob sneered, then cautiously glanced left and right, as if observing whether anyone was spying on them. After confirming that the patrol team members he knew nearby were not paying attention to them, Bob said in a faint voice, "Jason, it's not a good idea for us to continue like this. Those Silver Spears guys don't treat us as humans at all."
"Oh?" Jason also carefully looked around upon hearing this, then naturally covered his mouth, "Then what do you mean?"
"We still have to escape!" Bob's voice was very low, but his tone was very firm. "Are you willing to take a risk with me?"
"What?" Jason was startled to hear this, then said urgently, "Bob, don't do anything foolish. You've seen the Silver Spear's methods. They might be invisible around us right now. And where exactly is this place? How can we avoid those guards? How can we not be discovered by the guards? Have you considered all of this? The risk of a rash escape is too great."
"I know." Bob's voice was low, but what he said was very tempting. "I understand the risk is high, and if we fail, we might even lose our lives. But I'm even more unwilling to continue being manipulated like this. Are you willing to become their slaves?"
"This…" Jason fell silent upon hearing this. Although he was usually honest, it didn't mean he was a fool. Looking at the attitude the Silver Spears had shown earlier, it was almost like the magical creatures they faced every day. If they continued to be manipulated by the club, they might truly live a life worse than death. "Then what do you plan to do? Do you have a concrete plan?" Jason was clearly tempted, but out of caution, he still prepared to listen to Bob's ideas.
"I haven't thought of any good ideas right now." Bob shook his head with some regret. "But we can't just sit here and wait to die. And earlier, under the light, I noticed that this seems to be a completely sealed space. The top and surroundings are completely sealed, and there isn't even a door visible. I guess there might be magical passages like fireplaces inside. As long as we figure out a way to hide from those guards, there's still a lot of hope of escaping."
