Yu Shi and Gong Yi had finally reached the next city which is city H , the city looked desolate and rundown but instead of it being filled with monsters , the city was instead eerily quiet and empty making Yu Shi and Gong Yi raise up their defenses .
They walked further into the city , weapons raised ready to confront which ever monster jumps out from any unknown corner .
Suddenly , a large tendril shot from nowhere and attacks them , to which they easily dodged and countered back with their sword skills .

Description : this is a cannibalistic plant which eats both flesh and other plants to gain a diluted version of their powers .

Upon seeing the name of the monster , Yu Shi finally understood why the city was so desolate , the plant monster had probably eaten everyone there to sustain itself and to gain more power .
The plant dished out another attack , this time it sent a various amount of large vines which looked more like snakes with thorns covering them .
Yu Shi and Gong Yi dodged the attacks with ease as they also sent back various attacks at the monster making it grow agitated .

The monster then proceeds to use a large ranged attack skill on them , destroying the area around them but however this attack did not injure them as Yu Shi had noticed the monster forming the attack and had quickly used all the domain skills which she had to block the attacks and keep them safe .
The monster enraged continued to send various attacks to which were blocked by Yu Shi's barriers , then Yu Shi uses her skill Darkness's Hunger to swallow the remaining attacks that could damage the barrier .
Then Gong Yi uses his sword to send varied attacks towards the monster , injuring it easily as it was occupied with Yu Shi and could not defend itself .

After killing the monster , Yu Shi and Gong Yi checked around the city in search of any survivors monster or human but saw none , so they both decide to go back to their first city as Yu Shi decides to go check on how her ex family was doing and settle what ever grudge she had with them with Gong Yi following her where ever she wanted to go .
Meanwhile , the Qiu family had managed to escape the bandits , as Qiu Jianluo enraged and wanting revenge for his sister , had poisoned the entire gang of bandits with a poison he found during one of his errands .
It was during the chaos that the Qiu Family had managed to slip away and to make sure the bandits did not survive , Qiu Jianluo used a skill he had gotten from one of his errands to attract monsters into the bandits territory in an attempt to kill them all .
Though Qiu Jiatang was a bit unhappy at the turn of events , she still maintained her sweet sister persona with Qiu Jianluo as she comforted herself with the thought that Qiu Jianluo had gotten a bit stronger and might be useful enough to protect her .
A few days later , the Qiu Family had managed to get back to their mansion , but the journey was tough and Father Qiu and Qiu Jianluo injured trying to protect Mother Qiu and Qiu Jiatang but Qiu Jianluo was in better shape than his father as he was younger and could easily heal better so it was only Father Qiu that had gotten seriously injured .
After settling into their house , Qiu Jianluo decided to survey around the house to check for any hidden monster that might be in the house as he walked around , he came across a room , it was Yu Shi's former room but Qiu Jianluo did not remember that as he never could really care less about his biological sister and he then opened the door only to be hit by an unbearable stench of a rotting corpse .
Laying on the ground was Yu Shi's dead rotting body which no longer looked recognizable , seeing the body Qiu Jianluo was stunned and wondered if someone had used their house as a base when they were not around and killed a girl , leaving her body here to rot and die .
Not remembering that Yu Shi had been locked up before the game descended , Qiu Jianluo decides to lock the door to prevent the stench from spreading round the house and disturbing Qiu Jiatang and his parents .
After making sure the house was safe , Qiu Jianluo then went back to the living room where his parents and Qiu Jiatang was seated waiting for him .
" Is the house safe ? " asked Mother Qiu with a nervous expression .
" Yes , I'll take dad back to his room to rest " said Qiu Jianluo as he steps forward to carry his father back to the master bedroom .
Two days later , Yu Shi and Gong Yi arrived at the Qiu Estate , Yu Shi looked at the familiar house with a grim smile , she could still remember all what she had suffered her .
FLASHBACK { FEW MONTHS AFTER YU SHI CAME TO THE QIU HOUSE } .
Yu Shi who looked younger could be seen slapped by her biological mother , the slap was quite hard as Yu Shi fell to the floor sobbing while Qiu Jianluo and Mother Qiu watched on with disgust .
" How dare you push your sister down the stairs ? " Mother Qiu questioned with a rage laced tone .
" Mom you have to believe me I didn't push her down the stairs " begged Yu Shi as she sobbed trying to explain herself .
" Oh then , you just expect me to believe Tang'er fell down on her own " said Mother Qiu as she looked at Yu Shi with disgust in her eyes .
Yu Shi just stayed quiet as she sobbed knowing Mother Qiu would not believe her no.
" You better pray nothing happens to Tang'er or else you can pack your bags and go back to the wretched place you crawled from " said Qiu Jianluo with a disgusted look on his face as he left the staircase area with Mother Qiu leaving the sobbing Yu Shi on the floor .

" Are you alright ? " asked Gong Yi with a worried expression . His gentle tone had snapped her out of the flashbacks she was having .
" Nothing it's fine " said Yu Shi as she tries to relax her tensed body , making her realize she had been gripping her hand too hard as she could feel an injury on her palms due to her nails digging deep into her palm .
" Alright , but if you know you are not feeling well , you can just tell me and we can take a rest before we continue our journey " said Gong Yi with a smile as he gave Yu Shi a reassuring pat on the head .
" Thanks " said Yu Shi who's mood was now better than before after Gong Yi's statement and actions of patting her head .
' That's right I have someone who actually cares about me ' thought Yu Shi with a smile as she shoves the bad memories into a corner .
" Let's go " said Yu Shi as she opened the gate with ease leading Gong Yi into the house , it was time to face her demons .
The moment the door opens it creates a noise which alerts the inhabitants in the house who were scared at the sudden noise had immediately taken makeshift weapons to defend themselves from the unknown creature .
As Yu Shi and Gong Yi stepped into the house , they were met with the sight of the Qiu Family with the exception of Father Qiu who was resting in his room due to his injuries .
" W-who are you " Qiu Jianluo stammered trying to act brave but clearly afraid of the two unknown creatures that had stepped into the house .

Meanwhile, Yu Shi was a bit shocked , she was clearly not used to the Qiu Family cowering like cowards in front of her .
Snapping out of her shock , Yu Shi realized Gong Yi was waiting for her to speak so she decided to break the silence and the tension caused by their appearance .
" Do you know us ? " asked Yu Shi as she tries to gauge if any of the Qiu Family still recognized her by speaking as they might remember her from her voice .
" N-no , if we have , there is no way we would have forgotten your greatness , do we remind you of someone " stammered Qiu Jianluo , who was trying to make sure he does not accidentally offend the two powerful creatures .
This answer made Yu Shi shocked once again as she goes quiet for a while before saying " Don't worry , you all just reminded me of some people " .
" I and my companion wish to rest here , before we continue our journey " Gong Yi said , taking over the conversation from Yu Shi as he noticed she seemed disturbed by the conversation that had taken place .
" Of course , I'll prepare a room right away " said Qiu Jianluo as he rushes a way to prepare a room for the two powerful creatures afraid that any second delay would get he and his family killed .
Meanwhile , Qiu Jiatang could only watch them with a sour expression as she wonders who these people were , though her mood became better upon noticing Gong Yi .
' So handsome so powerful , it seems I have a new target ' Qiu Jiatang thinks with a sly smile as she looks at Gong Yi with scheming eyes .
