Chapter 5 - THE ARCHITECT OF SILENCE

🗝️🗝️🍀🍀*THE ARCHITECT* OF SILENCE🍀🍀🗝️🗝️

*CHAPTER 4*

I followed her.

Careful.

Far enough to be invisible.

Close enough to see.

She stopped.

Turned.

Scanned the street.

No one.

Good.

She slipped on gloves.

Interesting.

Then she crossed the road.

*Seolleung-ro 119-gil.*

She moved quickly.

Nervous.

Not arrogant.

Fear changes posture.

Then, she jumped.

Moments later—

She came out.

A car without plates pulled over.

The door opened.

She got in.

I waited three seconds.

Then started my bike.

Kept distance.

Headlights off at turns.

She didn't notice.

She was too busy looking behind her.

She stopped near an abandoned construction site.

She stepped out.

Looked around again.

Then—

She dug.

Not deep.

Desperate digging.

She threw her backpack inside.

Covered it.

Pressed the soil down with her shoe.

Back in the car.

Gone.

I took three photos.

Clear.

Time-stamped.

Precise.

I didn't smile.

Smiling is emotional.

This was strategic.

***

🌺🌺*WEDNESDAY*🌺🌺

The rankings returned to normal.

Of course.

Temporary disruption only exposes instability.

Permanent change requires collapse.

Her Mercedes rolled into the parking lot.

Park Jae In.

Crowned again.

Perfect uniform.

Perfect posture.

Perfect smile.

Too perfect.

She walked into class like nothing had happened.

Answered every question flawlessly.

Composed.

Untouchable.

A rumor spread quietly:

> Kim Ha Na had transferred..

I chuckled.

Money erases people quickly.

Interesting.

***

🍁🍁*BREAKTIME*🍁🍁

Empty classroom.

Again.

I opened my laptop.

Logged into Jae In's email.

> Password incorrect.

She changed it.

Smart.

But panic makes people predictable.

Three attempts allowed.

One mistake and the account locks.

I didn't rush.

People don't invent new passwords under stress.

They modify old ones.

Add numbers.

Capitalize letters.

Reverse phrases.

Her old pattern was admiration.

So what would she choose now?

> Protection.

I typed slowly.

Not forcing the system.

Studying the recovery prompt instead.

Security question:

"What is your greatest title?"

I almost laughed.

> Title.

> Not achievement.

> Not memory.

> Title.

I entered:

> Untouchable10

Wrong.

One attempt left.

Think.

After last night—

She wouldn't use "Untouchable."

She'd want strength.

Control.

I typed:

> QueenOfGolden10

Enter.

The screen paused.

Then—

Access granted.

No alarms.

No lockout.

Just silence.

Careless arrogance always returns.

***

I uploaded the images from last night.

> Anonymous student forum.

> Scheduled release.

> Headline auto-formatted.

> No names.

Just implication.

The timer blinked.

*ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SEND THIS POST?*

Yes.

*POST SENT*

The picture appeared online within seconds.

Jae In stepping out of a plate-less car.

Location tag visible.

Seolleung-ro 119-gil.

Perfect.

Now she wouldn't need to be accused.

She would accuse herself.

***

I walked down the hallway.

Then—

We collided near the restroom.

Alone.

As expected.

Her hand moved before her mind did.

_Slap._

Sharp.

Echoing.

Students nearby turned.

Phones lifted.

She grabbed my collar.

"Can't you see where you're going?"

I chuckled softly.

Not mockingly.

Just enough.

Her eyes darkened.

"Did you just laugh at me?"

Silence.

"Come here."

She dragged me into the restroom.

Girls scattered instantly.

She scanned the room.

Looking.

Calculating.

Metal handle.

Broken glass.

No.

Too obvious.

Her eyes landed on cleaning chemicals.

Stronger.

Crueler.

She grabbed a bottle.

Splashed.

Burning.

Sharp sting.

Tears formed involuntarily.

Pain is inconvenient.

But useful.

"Laugh again," she whispered. "I dare you."

She left.

Satisfied.

*🪷🪷PARK JAE IN'S POV*🪷🪷

Mi Jin's cry echoed behind me.

Pathetic.

She thought she could challenge me.

I returned to class.

Calm.

Collected.

Then—

The door burst open.

Students whispering.

Mrs. Kim pale.

Na Ri stammering.

"Mi… Mi Jin… she's hurt…"

I didn't turn.

Someone had sent me a photo earlier.

A photo of me.

Last night.

That street.

Someone was playing a game.

And I hated not knowing who it was.

Na Ri ran toward me.

"Mrs Kim wants you. Please. It's serious."

"So what?" I snapped.

Who did she think she was.

Thinking she could order me around.

Whatever happened to her wasn't my problem.

"Please Jae In it's urgent."

Who cared.

But still—

I stood up.

Walked outside.

The ambulance doors were closing.

Mrs. Kim looked at me.

"Park Jae In. Why did you cut her? Now she's—"

She stopped mid-sentence.

Police sirens.

Loud.

Unwelcome.

Officers stepped through the gate.

Students froze.

Mrs. Kim swore under her breath.

"Who called them?"

No one answered.

An officer stepped forward.

"Park Jae In."

I turned slowly.

"We are looking for you."

"For what?"

He held up a photograph.

*Seolleung-ro 119-gil.*

Time stamp visible.

"You are a prime suspect in the murder that occurred last night."

The hallway went silent.

For the first time—

I felt something unfamiliar.

Not fear.

Not guilt.

But uncertainty.

"Excuse me?" I said quietly.
