Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Panoramic Vision — The Maze Laid Bare | The Portkey Activates

As Lucian stepped into the maze and the entrance sealed behind him, the outside world vanished instantly.

Light. Sound. Warmth.

All gone.

What remained was damp air, the smell of soil and decay, and an oppressive darkness pressing in from every direction.

Tall hedges blocked the sky, leaving only a thin strip of fading blue above.

Every path twisted into shadow.

Every turn led into the unknown.

The wind whispered through the leaves like something alive.

For most wizards, this place would stir unease—fear, even.

Lucian simply stopped walking.

A New Spell

The Truth-Seeking Eyes could pierce illusions—

but not everything.

What he needed now…

was something greater.

A spell made specifically for this environment.

So—

He closed his eyes.

On the outside, the magical screens showed his marker standing still.

The audience grew anxious.

"Why isn't he moving?"

"Did something happen?"

They had no idea—

that within that stillness, something extraordinary was unfolding.

The Birth of Omniscience

Lucian's consciousness expanded beyond his body.

Comprehension activated.

Problem:

How to perceive an entire complex structure, ignoring all physical barriers, and gather real-time data from every point within it?

Traditional detection magic?

Too limited.

Too easy to disrupt.

Solution:

Transform perception itself.

Instead of scanning space—

become part of it.

His mind dissolved outward.

Spreading.

Seeping through everything.

Walls. Soil. Magic. Life.

All of it.

The Spell

The result:

Panoramic Vision Spell.

In an instant—

an immense, invisible wave of consciousness spread from Lucian, covering the entire maze.

Nothing blocked it.

Nothing resisted.

And suddenly—

everything was visible.

The Maze Revealed

Inside Lucian's mind, a perfect 3D map unfolded.

Every path.

Every dead end.

Every correct route.

Clear.

Precise.

He saw:

A hidden quicksand trap beneath a stone tileA patch of golden mist that induced unconsciousnessCleared paths subtly prepared by Barty Crouch Jr.Hidden curses left behind for other champions

He saw the creatures:

A massive Blast-Ended Skrewt lurking in a dead endA Sphinx guarding the final path, waiting with its riddle

He saw the champions:

Cedric just entering the mazeFleur and Krum preparing to follow

And at the center—

the Triwizard Cup.

Glowing softly.

Waiting.

God's Perspective

To Lucian—

The maze was no longer dangerous.

It was simple.

Like lines on his palm.

He opened his eyes.

Smiled faintly.

Then walked forward.

The Center

Less than a minute later—

Lucian arrived.

A quiet circular clearing.

The maze's heart.

At the center stood the Triwizard Cup, glowing blue.

Beautiful.

Tempting.

Powerful.

Victory was within reach.

The Truth Behind the Cup

But Lucian saw deeper.

Behind the magic—

another spell.

Hidden.

Dark.

A Portkey.

Leading to a precise location.

Far away.

Prepared.

Waiting.

Lucian's lips curved slightly.

He knew the plan.

And he intended to follow it—

to the very end.

A Problem

His hand moved toward the cup.

Then stopped.

A thought struck him.

Too fast.

Everything had been timed.

A normal champion would take at least half an hour to reach this point.

That time was necessary—

for Voldemort's return ritual.

But Lucian?

He arrived in under a minute.

If he activated the Portkey now—

the other side might not be ready.

The opportunity could be lost.

The Decision

Lucian withdrew his hand.

No mistakes.

Not tonight.

He wouldn't trigger the trap prematurely.

He would wait.

Let events align.

Let the script unfold naturally.

Waiting in the Shadows

Lucian stepped back into the shadows.

Leaning casually against the hedge.

Arms crossed.

Eyes closed.

Waiting.

Meanwhile…

Elsewhere in the maze—

Fleur was fighting.

Krum, under the Imperius Curse, attacked her.

She defended.

Countered.

And finally—

"Stupefy!"

Krum collapsed.

Unconscious.

Soon after, she met Cedric.

They joined forces.

Navigated traps together.

Until—

they reached the Sphinx.

It spoke:

"I have no voice, yet I tell stories.

I have no form, yet I can be broken.

What am I?"

They thought.

Then—

"A promise… or a secret," Fleur answered.

The Sphinx stepped aside.

The Final Arrival

They entered the center clearing.

And froze.

The Cup was there.

But—

so was Lucian.

Leaning casually in the shadows.

Eyes closed.

As if resting.

Realization

"…You've been here this whole time?" Cedric asked hoarsely.

Lucian opened his eyes.

"Yeah. For a while."

Silence.

Their exhaustion.

Their struggle.

Their effort—

felt meaningless.

Cedric stepped back.

"The Cup is yours."

Fleur nodded.

"This victory belongs to you alone."

They had both reached the same conclusion.

They couldn't compete with him.

Lucian's Answer

Lucian looked at them.

Calm.

Then said simply:

"Let's take it together."

Both of them froze.

They hadn't expected that.
