In the middle of the conversation, Matteo's phone suddenly rang.
He glanced down at the screen, his expression shifting just slightly when he saw the caller ID. Without a second thought, he flipped the phone over, letting it ring until it eventually went silent.
Adrian looked over at him but said nothing at first. When the phone immediately started ringing again, then again a few moments later, Adrian finally raised an eyebrow.
"Babe… why aren't you answering?"
Matteo kept his eyes on the road, his tone casual. "It's just an old acquaintance. He's inviting me out tonight."
Adrian tilted his head, remembering their past conversations. "I thought you said you didn't really have friends."
