Chapter 17 - footage

It was almost midnight in the Khurana Group headquarters.

Most floors were dark.

But the lights inside Arman Khurana's cabin were still on.

Arman stood near the glass window, looking down at the empty city streets.

His mind kept replaying the afternoon meeting.

The corrupted design.

The modified file.

And one name that kept appearing in his thoughts.

Rhea.

A knock interrupted his thoughts.

"Come in."

The door opened.

His secretary, Meera, stepped inside holding a tablet.

"You asked for the CCTV footage from the design department, sir."

Arman turned around slowly.

"Did you find anything?"

Meera nodded.

"Yes, sir. From the time Anika Kapoor left her desk before the meeting."

Arman walked toward the desk.

"Play it."

Meera tapped the screen.

The footage appeared.

The office floor looked normal at first.

Employees walking around.

Phones ringing.

Then the video showed Anika standing up and leaving her desk toward the printer room.

Arman's eyes stayed fixed on the screen.

The next few seconds passed.

Nothing unusual.

Then suddenly—

A familiar figure appeared.

Rhea.

She looked around briefly.

Then walked directly toward Anika's desk.

Arman's expression darkened.

On the footage, Rhea leaned toward the laptop.

Her fingers moved quickly across the keyboard.

Thirty seconds.

Forty seconds.

Then she closed the laptop and walked away calmly.

The video ended.

The cabin fell silent.

Meera looked slightly shocked.

"Sir… should I report this to HR?"

Arman didn't answer immediately.

His jaw tightened.

His eyes still on the frozen frame of Rhea standing beside Anika's desk.

Finally he spoke.

"No."

Meera looked confused.

"But sir—"

"I'll handle it."

His voice was cold.

Controlled.

Dangerously calm.

Meera nodded slowly.

"I'll keep the footage saved."

"Good."

She left the cabin quietly.

The door closed.

Now Arman was alone.

He picked up the tablet again and replayed the clip.

Watching every second carefully.

Then he leaned back in his chair.

A slow smile appeared on his face.

But it wasn't a happy one.

It was the smile of someone who had just discovered the truth.

"Interesting," he murmured.

Because this wasn't just sabotage.

This was a game.

And Arman Khurana never lost games.

Especially when someone tried to hurt something that belonged under his protection.

The next morning…

Someone in the office was going to regret their decision.

Very badly.
