Chapter 111 - The King's Path, The Ironforged Clan

Translator: AnubisTL

Two young stone giants rushed to aid the Granite Giant.

In their panic, they forgot their orders and charged toward the Granite Giant's position, breaking through the enemy lines.

The graymane werewolves seized the opportunity, pouncing on the unprotected young giants. Their claws flashed coldly under the moonlight.

Meanwhile, lizardfolk warriors, concealed by invisibility spells, silently approached the young giants, their spears aimed at the stone bodies.

The young stone giants were startled and tried to retreat to defend their kin.

However, they were immediately surrounded by elite hyena-men and Giant Wolf Knights, who closed in for the kill.

A crimson star streaked across the night sky, appearing above the giant camp.

"The Diamond Giant is dead!"

Garos raised his claw, revealing a glittering diamond core in his palm.

In an instant, the stone giants' morale plummeted to freezing point. The demonic retainers, trembling under the overwhelming dragon might, surrendered en masse, their will to fight shattered.

The strongest guardian of the Protector Clans had fallen.

This terrifyingly powerful dragon had returned with its heart, openly displaying his victory.

"Damn you, giant dragon!"

"You must have used some despicable trick to kill the elder!"

The Granite Giant slammed his fist into the Gluttony Demon, struggled to his feet, and roared at Garos.

Despicable?

To the victor, the enemy's insults sounded like hymns of praise. Garos felt no anger, merely observing the battlefield below with cold indifference.

"How dare you challenge the great dragon lord, giant! You've grown tired of living!"

The Gluttony Demon, eager to prove its loyalty, lunged at the Granite Giant again. As the monster retinue ceased their resistance and surrendered, more creatures swarmed the giants, encircling them completely.

Time slipped away amidst the smoke and slaughter.

Within minutes, Karu twisted off the Granite Stone Giant's head, pounding his chest and roaring in triumph. The young giants and even younger giant children had their limbs broken and were bound hand and foot by the familiars with iron chains.

Garos slowly folded his wings and descended into the captured giant camp.

"Dragon lord, what should we do with these giant prisoners?" Russell asked, licking demonic beast blood from his claws as he stood before a captured young giant.

Garos gazed at the giants.

In the eyes of these giants, both large and small, he saw fear, rage, and hatred.

Attempt to tame them?

Enslaving giants was a rare honor for dragonkind.

No, better not. I can't keep an eye on them forever, and these familiars might not be enough to suppress the stone giants. Besides, with such deep-seated hatred, they can't be allowed to live.

Cut the weeds at the root.

Garos flicked his tail and declared, "Kill them all. Leave none alive."

With this simple command, the fate of the stone giants was sealed.

The monsters swarmed forward, tearing the giants apart into massive chunks of stone. These stones, tempered by magical energy, were excellent materials for crafting superior alchemical weapons and armor.

Garos ordered the demonic beasts to be divided among several clans for enslavement.

He strode to the center of the camp and gazed at the Earth Vein Symbiosis Pool.

"By placing different ores into the Earth Vein Symbiosis Pool, one can extract their mineral essence. After being nurtured within the pool, these essences will condense into even higher-quality ores."

"The long-term benefits of preserving it far outweigh the value of the diamond giant's remains."

The only problem was that Garos didn't know how to move the Earth Vein Symbiosis Pool, so he had no choice but to leave it where it was.

After a moment's thought, Garos ordered the Bonechewer Clan to station a group of ogres here to guard the pool.

"This highland where the Stone Giant Camp is located has a good strategic position."

"Stationing a force here wouldn't be a waste."

As these thoughts crystallized, Garos's eyes flickered with sudden realization. He needed to start planning his territory and chosen more carefully.

"Times have changed."

"After all this time, I've established deep roots here. My territory is developing steadily, and I won't abandon it easily unless faced with overwhelming danger."

"In that case, I might as well put the principles from Monarch Theory and Lordship Theory into practice."

"I'll govern my territory more effectively."

Garos resolved to no longer allow his chosen to develop haphazardly. Without proper control, they would only cause him trouble. His territory also needed a comprehensive plan.

Before he could become truly powerful, Garos needed to ensure his own safety. His chosen would serve as his claws and fangs, his scales, and most importantly, his eyes and ears.

"We need to establish outposts on strategic high ground and vital thoroughfares."

"Pastures teeming with beasts and rivers rich in water resources—these resource points must be guarded and managed."

"Uncontrollably powerful ferocious beasts and demonic creatures must be eliminated first. The remaining ones should be captured, enslaved, and domesticated for livestock development."

"..."

A torrent of knowledge regarding territory and familiar management flooded Garos's mind, revealing the steps he needed to take next.

However, he found these trivial matters rather tedious.

Compared to wasting time on territory management, Garos would rather smash into mountains or stomp the ground a few more times.

"Let's start with the simple tasks first. Later, I'll need to recruit an intelligent familiar or dragonkind follower to serve as my 'prime minister,' overseeing the territory and clans on my behalf."

"Samantha? Forget it. She'd probably treat my chosen like ants, making them slaughter each other for her amusement."

"Karu is quite clever and perceptive, but its intelligence leans more toward cunning and trickery. It lacks the aptitude for governing a territory."

Garos had always believed that his own strength was paramount, considering everything else mere embellishment.

Yet he couldn't completely neglect his territory.

It was crucial for securing the resources needed for his growth and development.

Reflecting on the principles of Monarch Theory, Garos beat his wings, creating a gale that drew the attention of all his familiars. He hovered in mid-air, his wings spread like banners, casting a heavy shadow.

Under the curious gazes of his retinue, Garos declared, "The Bonechewer Clan, the Howling Moon Clan, the Redeye Clan, the Riftclaw Clan—all these names will become history!"

His gaze swept across his chosen like lightning.

"From this night forward," he proclaimed, "you shall bear only one name!"

Garos threw back his head and roared like thunder, the sound reverberating from his throat.

"Ironforged People!"

Unifying the scattered clans under a single name was the first and most crucial step in organizing his territory. This would strengthen their cohesion, making them understand who they fought for and who they lived for.

Under the watchful eyes of the twin moons and the starry sky, the Ironforged Clan, led by Garos, was officially established.
