Sora stepped through the wooden doors and witnessed a comical sight.
A tough man sewing dolls.
Funny sight when seen at first but reality is not based on sight alone.
Those were obviously cursed dolls or cursed corpses.
Sora didn't remember the details but the man was obviously the principal.
"Hai, Masamichi-San. I brought the new students."
Gojo stepped forward and greeted the principal.
Masamichi looked over and complained.
"You are eight minutes late."
Pausing slightly.
"Not too big to chastise you. But I will have to remind you to be not late again."
"If you won't chastise me, then don't chastise me. Anyway here are the students. Itadori Yuji and Hagane Sora."
Gojo complained back to Masamichi.
Yuji introduced himself.
"Good morning, Masamichi-San. I am Itadori Yuji. I like Jennifer Lawrance and I am pleased to meet you."
"Good morning, Masamichi-San. I am Sora Hagane."
Yuji's introduced himself with a bit of quirk while Sora was simple in introduction.
"Hmm.."
Masamichi looked over and stared at the both figure, ignoring the white-head.
"Why have you come to Tokyo Jujutsu High?"
The room held its breath.
Thread slid through cloth with a soft, repetitive sound. Needle in. Needle out. Like a heartbeat that didn't care who had entered.
Masamichi Yaga didn't look up immediately.
"…Why have you come to Tokyo Jujutsu High?"
The question landed heavy.
Yuji Itadori blinked.
"…Huh?"
For a second, he looked genuinely confused.
Like he had been asked something obvious but also something he hadn't really thought about.
"…To learn about curses?"
It came out uncertain.
More like a guess than an answer.
Silence.
The needle stopped.
Masamichi's hands rested on the doll.
"…And after that?"
His voice didn't rise.
But something in the room tightened.
Yuji froze slightly.
"…After… that?"
His eyes drifted down.
Thinking.
For real this time.
His fingers lifted slowly.
He started calculating on his hand.
His voice steadied.
"…I'll gather all twenty fingers."
"And I'll eat them."
His hand lowered slightly.
His gaze lifted.
Clear and straight with honesty.
"This is something only I can do."
Silence followed.
Masamichi's eyes rested on him.
Longer this time.
Weighing.
Not the words—
The intent behind them.
Behind them, Satoru Gojo leaned casually against the wall, saying nothing.
Like watching a amusing drama.
Sora stood beside Yuji.
Quiet.
His gaze flicked once toward Yuji.
A straight answer.
Expected from the honest kid.
---
Masamichi finally said.
Continued his stitch work.
"…That is not what I asked."
Yuji blinked.
"…Huh?"
Masamichi's voice remained calm.
"You stated your role."
A stitch pulled tight.
"What you will do."
Another.
"But not…"
The thread snapped softly into place.
"…why you will do it."
The room shifted again.
The question beneath the question surfaced.
Yuji's expression changed.
Just slightly.
"…Why…?"
He repeated it under his breath.
Masamichi didn't look up.
"If you die tomorrow…"
A pause.
"…will you be satisfied with that answer? Will there be no regret?"
Silence.
Yuji's hand clenched slightly.
"…I…"
He stopped.
Because for the first time—
He didn't have a quick answer.
"I will try to save everyone, since someone told me I have the ability to do so. Escaping this responsibility will only heighten my guilt so.."
With a pause, Yuji looks at Masamichi with resolve.
"I will not regret this."
From the side—
Sora exhaled faintly.
Too loud in a silent room
Masamichi's gaze shifted.
Landing on him now.
"…And you?"
"Hagane Sora."
The name sat differently in his tone.
Curious.
"Why are you here?"
"Same as Itadori. Just minus the Sukuna part and saving everyone part."
Sota calmly gave a curt-ish answer.
Masamichi was not disturbed by the curt tone.
"So? What will you do after learning about curses?"
Sora closed his eyes for a moment and gave it a thought.
Why would he need to learn curses and what will he do after?
Its simple actually.
The same reason he started sorcerer stuff.
Opening his eyes he gave a more resolute answer.
"I will learn so that I don't die, my friends and my family stays safe..."
Pausing to let the words sink in.
"And lastly I prefer the thrill of adventure."
Sora finished his statement.
Yuji was watching him with a surprised face.
One could stuff a egg through the gap of his mouth.
Gojo simply smiled knowingly in the background.
"Hmmm..."
Masamichi however was deep in thought.
Sora believed he gave a sufficient answer for the interview. So he was going to speak up.
"Ma-"
"Failed. Both of you."
"Huh?"
"Shit."
