As the sun rose the next morning Travis woke to the sound of SFC Smith's voice.
"Mr. Miller, its time for your tests please get dressed and meet me out in front of the hospital."
He got ready in the same clothes from yesterday(the only ones he owns) and headed out to do his tests.
'I hope this goes well, I'd be embarrassed if I have to tell Taylor i did poorly.'
He walked out the front entrance and saw SFC Smith had a black sedan waiting for him. He opened the door and got in.
"Mr. Miller, we are headed to the base so we can assess your physical and mental abilities, we will also give you a full health check-up so you're able to jump right into training tomorrow."
"Ok, so whats first?"
"First is the physical portion. Then the intelligence portion, then finally the check-up. It should take 5 hours if you're lucky."

The car pulled up to a track with a field in the center. The field had a bunch of different work out equipment set up on it.
"Alright Mr. Miller we are going to start with a 3 mile run. After that we will go into the deadlift and then push-ups, sit ups, and planks to round out the physical tests. Whenever you are ready please begin the run."

"Holy shit, this cant be real. You got a 6:32 3 mile, 650 lbs deadlift, 300 push-ups, 227 sit ups, and maxed out the plank at 10 minutes. You really are a super soldier."
"I can go again if you really don't believe it sergeant."
"No, that won't be necessary. Please follow me so we can figure out what kind of power you have."

After about an hour of test after test of just trying things randomly(like bending a spoon just by looking at it, or blocking a projectile without being able to see it) the discovered that rather than cyberkenisis, he could link himself, being part machine himself, to systems for more fluid control and data analysis. He also had the ability to see into the future as well as increased awareness his surroundings. He could sense everything within 100 meters of him.
After that they did a basic IQ test and discover his was 110.
"Well Mr. Miller all thats left is to get your check up done, head down the hall and enter the 3rd door on your left, they'll take care of you there."
He headed to the specified door and opened it, where he saw a team of 10 doctors and nurses waiting for him.
"Mr. Miller, welcome please have a seat and put your arms on the arm rests and hold still please, we will draw blood from the right, and take your blood pressure and oxygen levels from your left. We also need to listen to your heart and breathing before we send you off to dental."
"Alright, yeah I can do that." He tried to keep his voice steady, but apparently didnt do a very good job.
"Man you're a giant super powered cyborg, don't tell me youre scared of a little needle."
"Look, I've had some pretty shitty doctors in the past, I'm just nervous is all."
"Well don't be, me and my team are experts at this, you'll barely feel a thing."
And the doctor was right, all he felt was a slight prick, and the blood flowed easily. Allowing them to get all the blood they needed.
Then one of the doctors, a young lieutenant, looked at him with curiosity gleaming in his eyes.
"So, I hear you can tell the future Mr. Miller. What do you see in mine?"
Travis looked at him for a moment, seeing thousands of scenes flashing before his eyes.
"That's... not quite how it works Lieutenant, the future isn't set in stone, I can see thousands of ways your life could end, from dying on a battlefield to a hospital where you're old and grey surrounded by loved ones. Some where you die of a heart attack in your mid 50's, and some where you are hanging from your ceiling fan in your late 30's, unable to cope with ptsd from the war. The point being, your choices affect your future, and where you end up is largely dependent on how you travel this road called life."
"That's kind of... disappointing."
"The future often is lieutenant."
"Well, thanks anyway. Its good to know I'm not locked into a horrible future."
The man did look somewhat relieved, although the disappointment in his eyes was fairly apparent.

After finishing all of his medical exams and finding out he was in perfect health, and that his blood type was AB-, Travis headed back out of the medical building and found a familiar face waiting for him.
"Sergeant Smith, is that everything?"
"Indeed." He pulled out a card and handed it to Travis. "Here's your ID, we will head back to the hospital for tonight. Your flight is at 0500 tomorrow so be prepared to leave by 0400."
"Alright Ill be ready then."

It was late and night, and Travis was staring up at the ceiling.
'I just have to get through this.' He thought. 'Soon I'll be able to see Tay again, and we will be serving together. The Divine Powers will rue the day they crossed the Miller family'
With that declaration, he went to sleep. Laden with dreams of glory and honor.
