Hermione found him afterward near the tent entrance.
She looked at him the way she looked when she had witnessed something and was still organizing it into the correct frame.
'I saw,' she said.
'I know,' he said.
She stood next to him, close but not touching, in the specific way she did when something was significant and she was deciding where to put it.
'My parents saw too,' she said. 'Both of them.'
He hadn't known that. He looked toward the Granger tent, where a light was still on.
'Are they alright,' he said.
'They're — yes,' she said. 'They are.' A pause. 'My mother wants to talk to you tomorrow.'
He nodded.
'She said —' Hermione stopped. She had the quality she had when she was reporting something accurately and the accuracy was the difficult part. 'She said she understood better now. About the danger. And about the other part. Both at once.'
He looked at the field, where the Aurors were still working.
'Good,' he said.
She put her hand in his, briefly, in the dark, without making a thing of it.
He held it until she was ready to go in.
