They chatted all the way to the university gate, but Jasper subtly let go of Chloe's hand.
The warmth in her hand vanished, and Chloe looked back in confusion.
"What's wrong?"
Jasper, who had been chatting and laughing cheerfully with Chloe just a moment ago, now had an unnatural look on his face.
He urged Chloe, "Class is about to start. Hurry inside so you're not late."
A sliver of doubt arose in Chloe's heart. Her ink-black eyes darkened, and her gaze made Jasper's scalp tingle.
It was as if his feet were rooted to the spot, completely unable to move.
Finally, she walked slowly back to him, stood on her tiptoes, and pressed a light kiss to his lips.
Though it was fleeting, his lips tingled unbearably, as if he'd been struck by a jolt of electricity.
It was Chloe's first time kissing someone in public, and a blush crept onto her face. But as she looked at Jasper, her tone was tinged with exasperation.
