Meanwhile, at Whitespire Tech, many of the researchers were starting to panic.
But their director, President Logan, merely snorted.
"What's there to be afraid of? Didn't Tiana Warren guarantee that Chloe Sinclair doesn't have a backup on her computer? As long as we publish the paper first, it doesn't matter what Chloe does. We just won't respond."
However, one of the staff members frowned, worried. "But, President Logan, what about the online chatter?"
Whitespire Tech was already in the eye of the storm.
Seeing his employee acting so cowardly, President Logan's expression soured. He shot the man an impatient glance. "Hah. What's there to fear? This isn't the first time we've done something like this, and when has it ever gone wrong? What you should be thinking about right now is how much money our company will make once this paper is published."
