Amanda Rhodes felt her son tugging at her clothes and glanced back with a frown. "This is grown-up business. Stay out of it!"
The moment she finished speaking, her expression changed again.
Amanda Rhodes broke into such a wide smile that her whole face crinkled up.
"Oh, by the way, Chloe. You're doing so well at Emberfall University, you must know a lot of the professors, right? Could you ask one of the teachers you're close with to tutor my son?"
Chloe Sinclair tilted her head and asked earnestly, "Aunt, do you have the money for that?"
Sure enough, Amanda Rhodes's expression changed, and she slapped her thigh.
"We're all family. It's tacky to talk about money."
