Gabriel Sinclair's heart immediately softened at the look in his little sister's eyes.
"I haven't finished writing it yet. How about I sing it for you once it's done?"
In truth, he already had a solid idea. He had written more than half of it during the show; it just needed a finishing touch.
But today, Chloe Sinclair was unusually insistent. She said, "I want to hear it."
Gabriel had no choice. He grabbed a guitar from the back seat, and after tuning it, he relented, "I'll just sing a small part, okay?"
"Okay."
Chloe Sinclair nodded, then quietly started the voice recorder on her phone.
Gabriel didn't notice. He lowered his head and strummed the strings.
A soft, low voice drifted through the car, accompanied by the crisp sound of the guitar flowing from between his fingers.
The young man hummed softly with his head down, his voice effortlessly transporting his listeners.
Even the normally unflappable Ms. Mayfield looked shocked.
