Bai Wanwan held him and watched for a moment, concluding it must be her own guilty conscience. Zhu Xiu didn't seem to have noticed anything.
Once she relaxed, she felt hungry, but Zhu Xiu was still coiled tightly around her.
She reached out and patted his beast form. "Zhu Xiu, could you loosen up a bit? I'm not full yet."
Only then did the tail wrapped around her slowly unwind.
Back at the hearth, she hummed a song as she grilled a fish.
The aroma grew richer and richer. Bai Wanwan moved the grilled fish aside and began to feast.
When she was almost full, she remembered Zhu Xiu and quickly turned to look at him.
Zhu Xiu was coiled on the ground, his eyes wide open, staring right at her. There was no telling how long he had been watching.
Bai Wanwan cleaned up her dishes, rubbing her full, round belly as she walked over to him.
"Have you eaten yet?"
Bai Wanwan flopped onto the mattress beside him and rolled over comfortably.
