At a round table inside a small restaurant in an open alley, the two friends sit... they don't seem comfortable...
"Why is this idiot even here?" Elizabeth says, addressing Lucas, who followed them to the restaurant. Unlike them, he seems relieved as soon as he eats the sandwich in front of him.
"How on earth did your appetite return so quickly!"
Emma raises an eyebrow as she watches him devour the food in front of her. Elizabeth, beside her, looks annoyed as she leans back in her chair with a deep breath. "Great! As if the situation wasn't bad enough—" She glances at Lucas, who still seems unconcerned and finally says with a full mouth, "What!"
"Forget it," Emma mutters, turning her eyes to the window. She approaches it slowly, as if searching for something, and continues, "Are you sure no one followed us here?!" Her face shows concern.
"You mean the ugly man with the strange eyes from a while ago, right!" Lucas says with a smug smile, suddenly moving his chair closer to them, making a very annoying creaking sound, and says, "Come on, tell me how you know him!" He puts both hands under his chin and continues with an even bigger smile, "I'm listening..."
"There must be something that connects these events!" she says, completely ignoring him, addressing Emma, who seems to be trying to squeeze the last drop of her brain... whispering, "Yeah... who would kill a girl with such bru__?!"
"Yes, and why now of all times, and how did her body keep dripping blood for all this time! Does this mean that she died recently, but—"
Lucas suddenly interrupts them, his mouth full, muttering something that sounds like his inner thoughts, "I even smelled raw meat, like pork or something, as soon as I got close," he says with disgust as he wipes his mouth of food.
"I don't know how Noah even recognized his sister when she was like that... even her eyes were missing!" Emma muttered, nervously clutching her arm.
Elizabeth murmured to them as she adjusted her posture, "It seems the killer wanted him to recognize her... some of her belongings were scattered on the grass, even her phone was there..." She paused briefly before continuing, "still something is missing, despite this."
Silence descends upon their small table as they are lost in thought, to be broken by a loud ringing ... It is Isabella calling...
The young girl answers immediately; Isabella's worried voice sounds clear through the phone: "Are you and Emma okay?! What's going on?!" It seems she's still in the morgue...
Elizabeth reassures her aunt, adding, "Something really strange is happening," only to be interrupted by Emma, who snatches the phone and says, "YEAH, Auntie, something really suspicious is happening!!"
Isabella's voice breaks off, she seems to be saying something like "I'll come for you, stay where you are!!" But many voices behind her suddenly interrupt the phone, a voice like a sharp old woman shouting:
"This &%*!! Who told her to marry someone forty years older than her!!"
Lucas listens in astonishment as leans to listen ; they almost forgot to breathe...On the other end of the phone, it seems to be a group of family members speaking impatiently to Isabella.
"What are these sudden noises?!"
Elizabeth says, confused, and after what feels like an eternity, Isabella finally replies with a long sigh after forcibly moving away from them, "She's Mrs. Mary's mother, do you remember her?! They want to close the case. They say she brought shame by marrying a psychopath—" and before she can finish, the line suddenly cuts off.
Thus, both girls looked at the phone with even greater confusion and shock.
Emma whispers, "What?!" She is still nervously holding onto the phone, while Elizabeth raises her head to Lucas, who shares their shock. "...but not from the call, rather from something else," he focuses his senses on the outside, making her mutter, "What are you looking at?!"
...And so she gasps as soon as she notices... a huge truck blocking the alleyway. One of Frederick's men is clearly standing with his back against the truck, looking directly at them, with an increasingly devilish smile.
"What's happening?!" Emma gasps, standing with wide-open eyes, her breath heavy as she barely manages to stand... The three of them are now completely focused on the scene outside.
