"Nina? You said she's around here?" Ian clearly didn't believe him. "You must be drunk."
Jasper didn't need Ian's support. Aside from a flush in his cheeks, he looked mostly fine.
With a tipsy glimmer in his eyes, he seemed more approachable than usual.
"Oh, really?" Jasper pointed at a restaurant with traditional Chinese decor. "Then I guess I was mistaken?"
The moment he finished speaking, Nina walked out, letting out a burp.
Ian's eyes widened in disbelief. "Nina?"
Nina, who had been stopped in her tracks, was speechless. "..."
She turned her head, glanced at Ian, and then her eyes quickly shifted to Jasper standing beside him.
His head was lowered, and Nina couldn't make out his expression.
The first thought that popped into her head was, 'Run!!!'
Ian moved to block her path. "What are you doing on Food Street?"
He glanced at his phone. "Evening study session doesn't end for another five minutes."
