Ty pulled a long face. "Me too. We really can't take on too many jobs like this. It's all Nugget's fault. He said he had to take a piss halfway through the drive, which made me need to go too, so I went with him. By the time we got back, the guy was gone. The ropes were all over the floor. That son of a bitch must have loosened them ages ago and was just waiting for a chance to bolt."
The angrier he got as he spoke, the darker Zane Wyatt's expression became. "Alright, what's the point of dwelling on it now? Where's the threat letter? Let me see it."
Nugget quickly handed the letter to Zane Wyatt.
It said they would take care of all three of them within a month.
And the first person on the list was Zane Wyatt.
The threats weren't limited to them, either—they extended to their families and friends.
Zane Wyatt sighed. "Let's just wait here for now. If they show up with backup, we'll handle it on the spot."
