Yu Zhizhi was startled by the dark figure. When she looked closely and saw it was Yusen, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She slowly closed the door to the dressing room.
The small lamp in the living room didn't reach the hallway, which was completely dim. She took two steps forward so she could see Yusen's face more clearly.
"You're... still awake?"
Yusen's gaze darkened slightly. He silently stared at the small female before him. She had changed into casual clothes—a pink, linen-cotton nightdress—and her simple, pretty face showed traces of having just been washed. His eyes fell to her shoulder and neck—
Faintly, he could see a light, intimate red mark.
"Did you meet someone?" Yusen's tone was light.
A faint smile touched Yu Zhizhi's lips. "I just came back from Miss Li Yin's room. I met her brother, the State Preceptor of the Moon Rising Empire."
Yusen watched her in silence.
He was waiting.
But it seemed the young woman had nothing more to say.
