Across a boundless wasteland, a colossal beast resembling a cross between a crocodile and a dragon trudged slowly forward. The terrifying aura radiating from its massive body made every demon they passed shrink back in fear, not daring to approach.
Perched on the beast's back were two stunningly beautiful women.
Staring at the unchanging scenery, Gu Lin, who had been enduring the entire journey, finally couldn't take it anymore. She spoke up, asking, "Annie, where exactly are we going? How much longer will this take?"
"We're almost there. Just be a little more patient."
Annie smiled faintly, toying with a claw that seemed to have been pulled from the talon of some wild beast.
Gu Lin glanced at the claw.
Ever since they encountered a beast that was part tiger, part wolf five days ago, Annie had been acting this way. She was constantly lost in thought, holding the claw she'd taken from the creature, and Gu Lin had no idea what she was plotting.
"So secretive," Gu Lin muttered.
