"Upsetting the Chen family is something we can't afford right now," the Marquis said with a sigh.
"Have them interrogate everyone in the Estate again." the Marquis said in a dismissive tone.
"And why can't we afford to offend them?" Madam Liu said in an irritated tone.
"You and I both know that the Emperor treasures the Chens and the reason why they have so much land is because of the merits of the past Chens who died in battle." the Marquis said not understanding why his wife was acting like this.
"This is a matter of stealing from the Emperor and the punishment is execution, do you rather we loose our heads instead?!" Madam Liu snapped at the Marquis.
"It's this hesitation of yours-" Madam Liu said pointing at her husband.
"That makes the Chen family big headed." Madam Liu said in anger.
"We are the Marquis family, the most respected family in Longcheng and yet the bride to be doesn't bother to pay respects to her mother in law." Madam Liu said in frustration.
"That's right." Liu Tiancheng said backing up his mother.
"The Chen family has grown pompous, we should use this to teach them a lesson." said Liu Tiancheng.
Turning to his son in confusion, the Marquis asked "How are you so sure that the disaster relief funds were stolen by Chen Wenjin?"
"Because Chen Jinyu saw it," Liu Tiancheng said as he hugged Chen Jinyu to his side.
"I believe she didn't see wrong." Liu Tiancheng said with a confident smile.

Breathing heavily in anger, the Marquis threw the stack of papers handed to him by the maid at Liu Tiancheng and asked "Is this the evidence you were so sure about?!" in anger.
"Impossible!" Liu Tiancheng said as he dropped to his knees.
"The disaster relief funds were supposed to be here!" Liu Tiancheng said as he ruffled through the papers on the floor.
"I have long known that you and Chen Jinyu were more than friends but every time I bring it up, you say I am too jealous, that I don't trust you." Chen Wenjin said calmly.
"But what is this?" Chen Wenjin said as she shoved the letter in Liu Tiancheng's face.
"What is this?!" Chen Wenjin asked in anger as she tried to restrain herself.
"Fine." Chen Wenjin said as she breathed out shakily.
"Let's forget about the letters." Chen Wenjin said with a nod as she tried to put herself together.
"Now can you repeat that statement about how the disaster relief funds are supposed to be here?" Chen Wenjin said and all eyes watched her.
"Were you," Chen Wenjin said as she glared at Liu Tiancheng.
"The one that planted it?" Chen Wenjin said with a sneer and the air around her grew cold.
"Could it be that you planned to frame me?" Chen Wenjin asked, her voice rising.
"Is that why you were so such that the disaster relief funds were here?" Chen Wenjin yelled as she slapped him.
"Sister," Chen Jinyu said in a chastising manner.
"You have gone too far!" Chen Jinyu said as she shielded Liu Tiancheng.
"How could you raise your hand against Liu Tiancheng?" Chen Jinyu asked her sister in a rebuking tone.
"Chen Wenjin," Liu Tiancheng said as he held his face.
"You dare hit me?!" Liu Tiancheng asked in shock and Chen Wenjin slapped him again.
"Not only did you plan to frame me" Chen Wenjin said in anger.
"But the person you sent couldn't get the job right and planted the love letters you and Chen Jinyu sent to each other instead." Chen Wenjin said as she laughed coldly before suddenly stopping.
"Liu Tiancheng do you plan to make me die of anger?!" Chen Wenjin yelled and Liu Tiancheng flinched.
Nodding her head, Chen Wenjin said "Even if today is my last day, I will make sure to fight you." as she held Liu Tiancheng by the clothes at his chest area.
Not wanting her daughter to be harmed, Chen Lihua tried to drag her daughter away from Liu Tiancheng but as she pulled her back a stack of papers tied with string fell out of Liu Tiancheng's clothes and silence filled the room.
Bending down to pick the stack of papers in the now quiet room, Chen Lihua saw an amount of taels and the emperor's seal on the paper at the stop of the stack and asked "Is this not the disaster relief funds?"quietly.
For seconds nobody could speak and Chen Lihua's patience waned as she yelled "Is this not the disaster relief funds?" and shoved the funds of paper into the Marquis hands.
"The Liu family will not leave here today without giving me an explanation!" Chen Zixuan who was normally quiet yelled and a commotion broke out between the two families.
As the commotion broke out, Chen Wenjin waited calmly for the final piece of the puzzle and when Chen Jinyu suddenly fainted, Shen Xiatang cackled loudly as Chen Wenjin tried hard not to smile.
"Call a physician!" Liu Tiancheng said as he rushed to Chen Jinyu but nobody moved.
Seeing that she wasn't moving, Liu Tiancheng turned to Chen Wenjin and asked "Are the Chen family so vicious that they don't care about someone that they had watched grown up for twenty years?"
"You have no right to pull that card here." Chen Zixuan said with a glare and Liu Tiancheng kept quiet instantly.
Sighing because he didn't want anything to happen to her despite what she had done, Chen Zixuan nodded to Xaio Mei to fetch a physician.
"Clean this place up." Chen Lihua ordered the Liu family maids and the Liu family maids nodded.
"And move her to her living quarters." Chen Lihua said as she pointed to Chen Jinyu and the maids of the Chen Residence bowed.
The crowd moved to Chen Jinyu's room as and the physician rushed in moments later.
Immediately placing a towel under Chen Jinyu's arm the physician felt her pulse and after minutes of uncomfortable silence the physician said "The young Miss is pregnant."
