Marco glanced in the direction the men had gone. "Was that them?"
"Yes," Old Ross said, the wrinkles on his face deepening under the light of the wall sconce. "The Natali District always has its share of scoundrels."
Natali District?
Wei'en thought about the district's peculiarities and asked, "Are they nobles?"
"No, just some poor wretches who failed to awaken their family's Extraordinary Bloodline."
Marco's expression darkened. "But other members of their families still hold considerable power or have awakened an Extraordinary Bloodline, which allows these guys to run wild."
"I see..."
"Let's go. There are people who will take care of that." Old Ross turned and headed deeper down the hallway, speaking as he walked. "I didn't want to trouble you if it wasn't necessary, Marco."
"Right." Marco took a deep breath. "Let's hurry. If we're early enough, we can even grab a couple of drinks at the tavern upstairs."
