The middle-aged man beside him wiped the sweat from his brow, glanced over, and snapped, "My pay is only 1 shilling a week more than yours. Do you really think I'd know what the higher-ups are thinking?"
"It's that secret? Even you don't know?" The man on the ground climbed to his feet, sidled up next to him, and whispered, "Is there some kind of treasure hidden over there? Are the bosses planning to grab it?"
"Shut up and get back to work!" The middle-aged man glared at him.
"Fine, don't tell me then~"
"Huh?" Before the middle-aged man could even process that unsettling voice, he lost consciousness.
