After Leech's order was sent out, work in Beekeeping Village progressed quickly. A small keg of honey was delivered to the castle.
After dinner, Leech went to the kitchen.
The castle's kitchen had been expanded and had several stoves.
When Leech needed a meal, the cooks would work together, all starting at the same time.
Each one would prepare a single dish.
The advantage was that in the winter, all the dishes served at once would stay hot. There was no need to worry about one dish getting cold before the next one was brought to the table.
The disadvantage was the heat.
When the stoves were fired up, the apprentice cooks would be drenched in sweat.
The kitchen's temperature would rise to a terrifying level.
Fortunately, Leech's appetite wasn't great in the summer. He didn't like overly greasy dishes, preferring cold salads, marinated vegetables, and the like.
The kitchen had already been cleaned. The wooden tabletop had clearly just been wiped, and was still slightly damp.
