"It's me." Ren Qing tried to stay calm, but he felt a flutter of anxiety. He asked, "Are you hungry?"
"I'm fine." Su Yu slowly sat up and asked curiously, "Why did you suddenly change into your beast form?"
Ren Qing answered vaguely, "My beast form helps you sleep more comfortably."
Su Yu said, "Oh," and with a smile, she kissed his back before letting Ren Qing set her down.
Ren Qing did as she asked and placed her on the ground, but he didn't transform back into his human form. He remained in his beast form, shuffling his feet as he waddled after her.
His large wings gave a couple of seemingly casual flaps.
Su Yu carefully stepped around the little cubs sprawled asleep by the fire pit. She had intended to wash her face to wake up, but when she turned around, she saw Ren Qing still in his beast form, clumsily following her.
Seeing him walk like a free-range chicken, Su Yu couldn't hold back her laughter. "Why don't you change back into your human form?" she asked.
