Ever since Alek and the others learned of the connection between Exotic Beasts and Star Beasts, they had dispatched patrols daily to the inner and outer perimeters of the Exotic Beast Forest.
The other elders would also regularly venture deep into the Exotic Beast Forest to find the Exotic Beast leaders and monitor their movements.
Under the intimidating presence of the elders, the Exotic Beasts within the forest had been relatively quiet these past few days. But today, the sounds of a violent struggle suddenly erupted from the inner perimeter.
At first, the Sixth Elder, Selena, who guarded the border, thought it was just a normal conflict between Exotic Beasts. But by Noon, the patrol team that was supposed to return had lost contact.
Selena sensed something was wrong and immediately led a group into the Exotic Beast Forest to investigate. There, she discovered that the first patrol team had been killed at the border between the inner and outer perimeters.
