"Aren't you…taking a huge risk?" Caesar asked, a worried tone in his voice.
That was a legendary Demon God, after all!
"It's fine. As long as the ritual doesn't fail, there won't be any problems," Isaac said, quite nonchalantly.
Caesar, standing nearby, looked like he wanted to say more, but Cheryl cut him off. "Isaac is right. As long as the ritual is successful, there's no danger. This is the very power Legendary Mages rely on to survive."
But then she turned to Isaac. "That, however, is predicated on the ritual succeeding! You might have gotten lucky this time, but I hope you don't get careless because of it. The Outer Gods are not that simple. Your success this time doesn't guarantee you'll keep succeeding in the future!"
Isaac nodded. Of course he knew that.
This was one reason why no one in the Mad Witch Association bothered with interpersonal relationships. Everyone just lived one day at a time, knowing they could be gone in a flash. Making friends?
There was no point.
