Jensen Morrison reached out and pulled Ivy Holden into his arms. "Don't be afraid," he said. "I'm here now. I won't let anything happen to you."
Maybe it was the gentleness in his voice, or perhaps the strength of his arms. Ivy's heart suddenly ached, and tears welled up in her eyes unexpectedly.
Jensen Morrison's chin rested on the top of her head. He didn't see her tears, but he could feel her sorrow.
One hand wrapped around her shoulder while the other cupped the back of her head. He whispered, "You just focus on preparing for the show at the National Stadium. Leave the matter with Leon Summers to me."
Ivy Holden suppressed the wave of sadness in her heart, secretly wiping her tears on Jensen Morrison's clothes. She gritted her teeth and said, "No. I'll prepare for the show properly. But I'm also handling Leon Summers myself."
"So stubborn!" Jensen Morrison chided in a low voice, his tone full of helpless adoration.
