"You're going to act alone?"
Gu Lin frowned, clearly disapproving.
"It's too dangerous for you to escort all ten of them by yourself."
A confident smile touched the corners of Ji Xiaosong's lips. Her gaze toward Gu Lin was unquestionable. "Don't worry. They're just a few guys; they can't escape my grasp. I have my ways. I guarantee I'll be back within half a day and won't delay our journey."
Gu Lin's brow furrowed even deeper. He took a step forward, his eyes locked on Ji Xiaosong. "Do you think I'm questioning your strength? In this apocalypse, danger never plays by the rules. No matter how strong you are, you can still be outnumbered. What if you run into a zombie horde, or another team of Superpower Users with ill intentions?"
"I know you're worried about me, but some things I have to do alone. On this trip, I'm not just taking them to Chenming City. I also want to investigate some clues along the way. Some secrets are better kept by as few people as possible."
