He called Rosalind Lowell, but there was no answer even after several attempts.
He then dialed Zeke Hayes's number. "Is my wife with you?"
"Mr. Davenport, isn't she with you?"
Earlier, when they had gone for a meal, Alaric Davenport had been the one driving, so Zeke hadn't followed. He didn't know when they had returned and had been waiting in the car in the garage.
When it got late, he went back to the studio. Seeing it was still empty, he assumed they weren't returning. Since his calls to Mrs. Davenport went unanswered, he figured she was with Mr. Davenport and didn't worry about it.
"She left the studio without calling you?"
"No, Mr. Davenport. You can't reach her either?"
