Aria Sterling only woke the Lynch brothers and Adrian Rhodes. Waking anyone else within this barrier would be more trouble than it was worth.
Evan Lynch was bothered by two things: the cat that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere from Aria Sterling, and the fact that he could now understand it speak. He didn't dare to ask Aria directly, so he tried to subtly probe Adrian Rhodes for answers.
Adrian Rhodes, however, was rather aloof. "If you want to know something about Miss Sterling, go ask her yourself," she said. "I don't know anything."
Both Evan and Brendan Lynch knew perfectly well that Adrian wasn't completely ignorant. Rather, she wouldn't easily divulge anything about Aria Sterling.
Aria Sterling, having listened for a while, decided to explain. "We're inside a barrier right now. Every barrier is different from the outside world. It just so happens that in this particular world, ordinary people can understand the language of beasts."
